As per the TCG tournaments official rulebook, it isn't. Penality severity is determined by its, and I quote, "rewindability" - as they were able to rewind it, it's considered a minor penalty. Match loss is disproportionate and violates their own rulebook.

Rule sharking IS against the spirit of the game, AND it should be against the rules under section 5.4- concessions and IDs: matches should be decided based upon gameplay alone. Judges should be held accountable for not considering this as the primary means of match determination

Meanwhile this was fine for a regional winner in TCG.
The inconsistency here is the real issue. There’s a huge difference between malicious taunting and the natural release of emotion after a win.
Players deserve a clear standard from TPCI instead of being stripped of titles due to the company’s lack of transparency.
