The 🐷 (Chinese g*yu) are making lame excuses for spamming AO3, but these are 2 holes: 1. They twist AO3’s words into “support,” when it’s simply about preserving a dying archive 2. The issue is “splitting multi-chap fics into separate works”, but they have no intention to fix it

Let show the world how ridiculous Chinese g*yu are: 1. They keep bragging about their 2 million-post forum & badmouth AO3, but that number includes comments. And ironically now they’re trying to spam AO3 2. They annouced to "cut ties with canon", yet still desperately cling to it

I didn’t plan to get involved in what 🐷 (Chinese g*yu) are doing, but this could potentially cause problems in the future, so I think it’s necessary to warn everyone in advance. They developed (?) a plugin to upload fics on AO3 & encourage their members to use it.

This isn’t the first time Chinese g*yu have flooded a platform with works. On Lofter (a Chinese fanfic platform), their creator count is average, yet their works-per-creator ratio is consistently the highest among fandoms. One month it even hit 1:21—a legendary laughingstock 😂

Side note: -AO3 is blocked in China -and Chinese fandoms already have plenty of popular fanfiction platforms. So clearly this tool isn’t about creating content or making fics more accessible to Chinese readers.
