JUST IN: Massive fire breaks out at the historic Oceanside Pier in California about 40 min north of San Diego city.
The fire appears to be at the location of Ruby's Restaurant, a diner which is permanently closed.
Fire fighting boats are on the scene however they are having a very difficult time putting out the fire.
According to NBC 7, the roof on a small structure next to the Ruby's diner building collapsed.
The original pier was build in 1888
The city of Oceanside spent $5.5 million last year to upgrade the 1,954 foot long pier by replacing old pipes and electrical systems.
