A hillbilly went hunting one day in West Virginia and bagged three ducks. He put them in the bed of his pickup truck and was about to drive home where he was confronted by an ornery game warden who didn't like hillbillies. The game warden ordered the hillbilly to show his hunting license, and the hillbilly pulled out a valid West Virginia hunting license. The game warden looked at the license, then reached over and picked up one of the ducks, sniffed its butt, and said, This duck ain't from West Virginia. This is a Kentucky duck. You got a Kentucky hunting license, boy?" The hillbilly reached into his wallet and produced a Kentucky hunting license. The game warden looked at it, then reached over and grabbed the second duck, sniffed its butt, and said, 'This ain't no Kentucky duck. This duck's from Tennessee. You got a Tennessee license? The hillbilly reached into his wallet and produced a Tennessee license. The warden then reached over and picked up the third duck. 'This duck's from Virginia. You got a Virginia hunting license?" Again the hillbilly reached into his wallet and brought out a Virginia hunting license. The game warden was extremely frustrated at this point, and he yelled at the hillbilly, just where the hell are you from?" The hillbilly turned around, bent over dropped his pants, and said, You tell me, you’re the expert!

I don’t blame the Democrats for cheating, I blame the Republicans for not stopping them. I’ve had enough.

Replying to @LeaderJohnThune
Under your leadership, we lost the Senate majority. As bad as that is, we lost Kansas and we are likely to lose Mississippi — deep red states. To add insult to injury, your lack of action helped to defeat Senator Collins in Maine. Will you — upon looking at the disastrous results from 2026 — nuke the filibuster & pass the hundreds of bills the House has sent to the Senate or will you be remembered as the Senate Majority Leader that squandered a Republican House, Senate, White House, & SCOTUS? History is watching & it will not be kind in 2028. Peacefully.

Once in a while SNL makes me LOL for real. And this one made me laugh. Well, it was a chuckle.

I asked 50 Japanese people, ages 9 to 91, one question. "What do you admire most about Americans?" Here are the top answers. 10. "They clap when the plane lands." (Office worker, 34) 9. "They say 'I love you' every time they hang up the phone. Even men. Even to other men." (Taxi driver, 61) 8. "A stranger told me she liked my shoes. Then she just walked away. She didn't want anything." (High school girl, 16) 7. "They thank the bus driver when they get off." (Bus driver, 55. He got emotional saying this.) 6. "They tell you their whole life story in the grocery line. I know about one man's divorce, his boat, and his knee surgery. We knew each other for four minutes." (My mother, 64) 5. "They stand for the anthem at a children's baseball game." (Little League coach, 47) 4. "When they lose, they shake hands and say 'good game.' And they mean it." (Sota, 12) 3. "They fly the flag on a regular Tuesday. No holiday. Just because." (Nurse, 28) 2. "They help a stranger push a car out of the snow, then leave without saying their name." (My cousin's husband, 52, who got stuck in Colorado once) And the number one answer came from the oldest person I asked. My grandfather. He's 91. He thought about it for a long time. Then he said: "They still believe tomorrow will be better than today." I asked him what he meant. "In 1946, we had nothing," he said. "The American soldiers I met were young and far from home. But they acted like the future was coming, and it was going to be good. After a while, we started to believe them." I asked him if he thought Americans still believe that. He nodded slowly. "Tell them," he said, "not to stop."

Too many people on both sides are out there worried about the cost of gas and not enough worried about the cost of freedom. That’s what we need to work on.

Unbelievable. Even the New York Times is reporting this. Mary Peltola's team combed Alaska's voter rolls for every man named Dan Sullivan, then recruited one to run to confuse voters. Senior Democratic Senate campaign officials in Washington were in on it. Two terms in Congress. Zero bills signed into law. But she found time to hunt down every Dan Sullivan in Alaska. Control of the Senate goes through Alaska. Let's elect the REAL Dan Sullivan.

My thoughts of late have returned to this amazing scene by @WilliamShatner, made decades ago. As a young person, I found it tremendously inspiring. A code to live by. But it didn’t play out quite like we expected. The “fantastically advanced” life that we actually ended up encountering is right here, on Earth. All around us now. The key issue of our time is becoming this: Not everyone signed up for this mission, or the risk. And what we do about that, ultimately, is where the debate about AI will end up.
