One of the craziest things about building wealth is realizing how much money you've already earned in your lifetime.
Somebody making $60K a year for 10 years has earned $600,000 before taxes.
Imagine how differently those 10 years could look if you had a plan for every raise, bonus, and extra paycheck.
I genuinely believe more parents should be teaching their teenagers about investing before they graduate high school.
Imagine turning 18 already knowing what $VOO is, how credit card interest works, what a Roth IRA does, and why financing a $50K car might be a terrible decision.
That's a MASSIVE head start.
One of the biggest advantages you can give yourself in your 30s is a career that pays well AND leaves you enough energy to enjoy your life.
Making $120K while being miserable 70 hours a week isn't everybody's idea of success.
Time and peace of mind have value too.
Your child turning 18 with a basic understanding of investing, credit scores, taxes, and compound growth is a MASSIVE head start.
Imagine learning at 16 what some adults don't figure out until they're 40.
Financial education at home can change generations.
7 THINGS THAT KEEP PEOPLE LIVING PAYCHECK TO PAYCHECK:
1. Expensive car payments
2. Credit card interest
3. No emergency savings
4. Lifestyle inflation
5. Never negotiating salary
6. Financing every purchase
7. Ignoring where their money goes
Fixing even two of these can make a HUGE difference.
Minimum wage too high if they arenβt eager to make them multiple sells to get the commission up. You know you make the most when you sell a shoe with the shoe cleaner + socks. They didnβt get you much commission just for the shoes. From my footlocker days way back when.
The day you start looking forward to buying assets more than buying clothes is the day your relationship with money starts changing.
A few shares of $QQQ.
A little Bitcoin.
More money in your retirement account.
Watching your ownership grow is a great feeling.

$25K is a beautiful first milestone.
The older I get, the more I respect people who are quietly getting their lives together.
Going to work. Taking care of their kids. Paying down debt. Learning new skills. Trying to become healthier.
That kind of effort deserves more recognition.
5 THINGS WORTH DOING BEFORE THE YEAR ENDS:
1. Get a full physical
2. Review your finances
3. Update your resume
4. Open an investment account
5. Have an honest conversation about your goals
You still have time to make meaningful progress.
One of the most underrated skills in life is being able to keep promises to YOURSELF.
You said you were going to save $500.
You said you were going to start walking.
You said you were going to apply for better jobs.
Every time you follow through, you build a little more confidence.
Somebody is going to spend the next 6 months learning cybersecurity, cloud computing, or data analytics and completely change their earning potential.
Somebody else is going to spend those same 6 months complaining about how expensive everything is.
Choose wisely.
I genuinely believe your life can look COMPLETELY different a year from now.
A better job. A healthier body. Less debt. More money invested. A stronger relationship with your family.
12 months is a LONG time when you actually start doing the things you've been putting off.
