The cryptographic world computer:
vitalik.eth.limo/general/202…
My attempt to express in somewhat concise terms the true meaning of basically everything planned to happen to Ethereum starting from the fork after Hegota. It's really not just a blockchain anymore. It's a hybrid architecture that combines together blockchains and modern cryptography, to enable much more powerful properties.
FOCIL, EIP-8288, Lean consensus, state management, formal verification, advanced mempool improvements (including privacy), and the longer-term specter of obfuscation all mentioned.
Whoever wants to sell $cRECY please DM me.
I'll buy whatever you have.🤟

there is no perfect timing
if your product is good and valuable, people will use it in a bull, a bear or anything in between
good products create their own timing
AI makes the mantra don't trust, verify much more essential for knowledge building. And this is the culture crypto needs.

I’m about to tell you something that will piss you off
(but you need to hear it):
You are 50× more productive than someone in 1950.
So why aren’t you 50× wealthier?
Your grandfather built cars by hand.
You design them with computers.
Your great-grandmother calculated by slide rule.
You process data at light speed.
Every productivity gain should have made you richer.
Instead, wages don’t keep up with prices as…
* Houses cost 10× more relative to income
* College costs 20× more
* Healthcare costs 15× more
All those productivity gains should flow back into the economy to everyone.
But where did they go?
The banking cartel siphoned it off through money printing.
Every dollar they create dilutes the dollars you earn.
Productivity gains taken.
Right under our noses.
Trillions stolen.
Bitcoin ends the heist.
With hard money, all productivity gains go to holders of Bitcoin.
Thus, life gets less expensive.
Understand?

Self-custody is not the problem.
Single-point-of-failure self-custody is the problem.
Don't be lazy and get conclusions of the easiest thing you perceive in other words.
This gets me thinking though how great would it be a Tor like strategy to promote and incentivize people and orgs to run miners, not for making money, but for contributing to the security of Bitcoin.
Average Joe: "I don’t trust Bitcoin because it about 7 lines of code to change the quantity from 21 million to 21 trillion."
Congratulations. You've discovered that Bitcoin is software. Groundbreaking.
Here's what you missed: changing the number in the code is trivial. Getting the network to run your code is the entire game.
And to raise the cap, you'd need every node runner and every miner to voluntarily slit their own throat. To vote to make the very asset they hold worth less.
They pointed at the dollar. "It's inevitable, just like the Fed."
That comparison doesn't save their argument. It buries it.
The dollar was debased by decree. A handful of men in a marble building, printing at 2 a.m., and the debasement flows first to whoever stands closest to the spigot.
You never got a vote.
You got the bill.
Bitcoin is the opposite machine.
Nobody can inflate it at your expense, because the only way to inflate it is for everyone to agree to inflate their own holdings at the same instant.
The moment the 21 million promise cracks, confidence evaporates, the bid vanishes, and every coin, including Saylor's, including the miners', becomes worth less in minutes.
17 years. Not one successful attempt. Because you can't bribe a network into cutting its own throat.
The dollar asks nobody's permission to steal from you. Bitcoin requires your permission to steal from you.
Who's voting yes?

this industry has spent more than a decade lying to itself about building the future while shipping systems that can't survive the people who built them. if your application fails the walk away test, you've fucking failed. period. i don't fucking care how many users, investors, or billions it has. sooner or later every company disappears, every foundation dissolves, and every multisig stops signing. the only things worth building are the ones that keep working after everyone walks away. build something that no longer needs you.

Twelve words. That's the whole vault.
No suitcase of cash. No gold in the coat lining. No account number for some clerk to freeze while you stand there sweating.
For ten thousand years, wealth was something you carried or something you abandoned. Those were the only two options. Every refugee in history got the same brutal menu.
Bitcoin ended that.
Now your net worth crosses the border inside your skull, and there is nothing to declare because there is nothing to see.
Stack sats. Opt out.

Most people picture a Bitcoin payment like a bank transfer. Money leaves one account and lands in another.
That's not what happens.
Here's what actually happens, because once you understand the process, half the FUD surrounding Bitcoin disappears.

A gold analyst just made the best case for bitcoin I've heard all year. By accident.
His whole thesis: "the beauty of gold is it's not used for anything." Send gold to $1,000,000 and nobody gets hurt. Send corn to $1,000 a bushel and people starve. Send oil there and the economy collapses. A reserve asset has to be useless, because money that doubles as something people need to consume punishes everyone the moment it goes up.
He's right. He just stopped one step short.
Gold still has day jobs. Jewelry, electronics, dentistry. Bitcoin is used for even less. It was built to be money and nothing else. No industrial demand fighting its monetary demand, nothing to melt down, no factory waiting on the supply.
Gold is useless enough to be great money. Bitcoin is useless at everything except being money. Same principle, taken to its logical end.
The purest reserve asset isn't the one with the fewest uses. It's the one with none.
