One of the reasons political parties have failed in the past is the tendency to reward friends and unpopular candidates at the expense of merit and electability. Linda Mwananchi Movement Party Leader, Edwin Sifuna @edwinsifuna , has publicly signalled a break from this culture, committing the party to vetting aspirants and putting credibility, competence and popular support at the centre of its candidate selection process. I am fully aligned with this.
The message is clear: party tickets must be earned, not given as favours.
