My biggest takeaway from this game is that human beings are genuinely insatiable.
You’ll see people with trillions…..more money than they could possibly need in the game…..and somehow, they still want MORE …And that’s what makes it so interesting to me because this isn’t even real life. There’s only so much virtual stuff you can buy, yet people still want to accumulate wealth just for the sake of having more than everybody else.
And then there’s the hypocrisy.
A lot of the things we condemn in real life somehow show up in the way we behave in the game…stealing, greed, stinginess, hoarding, selfishness, wanting to be richer than everyone else, refusing to help people even when helping them would barely make a dent in what you have.
Obviously, it’s just a game, so it’s not that deep but I genuinely think it reveals something interesting about human nature.
Sometimes, having “enough” doesn’t stop us from wanting more.
We just move the goalpost.
