In a referendum on Sunday, Swiss voters rejected the neutrality initiative.
The constitutional change would have ruled out adopting a regional organization's sanctions, such as those the EU has imposed on Russia.
According to @ThGreminger, executive director of @TheGCSP and former secretary general of the @OSCE, the political and economic costs of such a shift would have been enormous, damaging relations with Brussels.
