1 year ago today I began the greatest journey of my career.
I’m incredibly proud of opening The Untrainable Dragon at Epic Universe. I cannot fathom it’s already been a year since I walked into a dance studio in Orlando and begun learning this show.
I’m forever grateful 🐉🫶🏻

Out of all the Icons throughout the 35 year history of Halloween Horror Nights, none have been quite as present, recognized, or synonymous with this event as Jack the Clown. Twenty five years after his debut, he’s still here. And while we’ve seen the event change, evolve, and reinvent itself over the years, Jack has remained a constant.
We get asked all the time by people who don’t attend HHN what makes it so special. It’s hard to explain to someone who has never experienced it. To an outsider, it might just look like another Halloween haunt. But it’s so much more than that. And honestly, we think that explanation starts with Jack.
Jack embodies so much of what Halloween Horror Nights means to us. He’s more than an Icon or the face of Halloween Horror Nights. He’s become part of the identity of this event. Our Scream Squad has changed over the years, houses and zones come and go, and the event continues to evolve. But Jack has been there through it all. He’s appeared at every anniversary event since his debut, becoming a constant that generations of fans have grown up with. Returning to HHN when Jack makes an appearance is like seeing an old childhood friend who loves the same horror movies you do, understands your twisted sense of humor, and likes to cause a little chaos every now and then with us, his maniacs.
We’ve had the opportunity to meet James a couple of times over the years, but we certainly wouldn’t claim to know him on a personal level. What we can speak to is what he’s brought to so many of us through this character. The interactions, the personality, the connection with fans, and the way that relationship continues even in the off season through socials. That connection carries right into the event when Jack returns, and it’s truly something special. We honestly can’t think of another haunt that has created quite that same relationship between an Icon, the person portraying him, and the fans. HHN truly has someone special in James.
During our personal interaction with James at HHN 35, he said something that really stuck with us. In reference to everything surrounding this event, the atmosphere, the chaos, the spectacle that is HHN, he told us, “It’s all for you.” And he bowed and gestured to us as if we were the ones he was performing for. The humility behind that gesture meant more than you know. We certainly didn’t expect that kind of acknowledgment from someone who has given so much to this event and its fans. But this is James. And that says a lot.
The humility behind those words, and the way he carried himself that night, spoke volumes about the man behind the makeup. We don’t think anyone could have predicted 25 years ago what Jack would become, or the legacy that would grow around him. But here we are, all these years later, and it’s hard to imagine Halloween Horror Nights without him.
So, thank you to the man behind Jack. @Mrfurious32821, you’ve helped make Halloween Horror Nights feel like home for so many of us. You’ve given us a little welcomed chaos away from the real world, and an Icon that means more to this fan community than we could ever properly put into words.
We appreciate your passion, dedication, the blood, sweat, and Florida soaked nights, and everything you’ve given to this event and its fans more than you know.
Forever our Ringmaster of Fear. 🫶🏼🎪
Hope to see you in the fog again.
