I only understand this because my best friends live in New England but it’s very funny.

Stoney can be both an excellent coach and not the right fit for our national team program.

Is Stoney to Canada what Vlatko was to the USA? Is she a fan club coach who struggles with the nuance and time with the players at the international level?

My other theory is Stoney is baiting for the Arsenal job if/when Renee gets let go.

Does anyone have insight as to why Prince wasn’t used today? She’s been in really good form.

Her in game critical thinking and tactics have grown so much in the last 6 months. It’s exciting to see that side of her game develop with her technical excellence. And she’s a kid still. She’s just getting started.

Ok, before this gains any more traction, I don’t think Sheridan is a complete wash. The opposite actually. But I do think we’ve missed opportunities to develop others in games AND Sheridan carries a lot of pressure and that needs to come off sometimes.

Ok friends. I know Stoney loves Sheridan. They have history. HOWEVER some introspection is needed between the sticks I think.

Today her back line choked and she got in her head. In situations like this sometimes the right thing to do is to let someone play, other times taking them out is a gift. Psychology in goal keeping is wild and I think we’ve done a poor job on the mental side for our entire GKU.

If all 3 (or 4 in this camp) keepers know anyone might start they’re all going to prep each other with a different mentality. They’re going to trust themselves and each other more when they do get the nod because it’s earned and not presumed.

Jessie is getting shit kicked in the last 10 minutes. What do you have against our captain, Denmark? 😭

Smith’s passing has improved in the last 6 months. You can see her thinking more critically about her choices on the pitch and a maturity growth. I hope that continues, her ceiling is obviously wild.

Only two changes given what just happened in that first half is a shocking choice.

Lawrence & Sheridan not being the two that came off is equally shocking.

I don’t hate Sonia pushing up, but the dynamics of the other 3 in the back line are not solid enough for her to get caught. Lawrence really isn’t playing to the potential we’ve seen her have before. Shes not our top 11. Our number 2 keeper is actually our number 1.
