1. Build a taxable brokerage alongside your 401(k)/IRA
2. Retire early and live off the brokerage first
3. Each year, realize up to $98,900 in long-term gains at 0% federal, then use the $32,200 standard deduction to convert that much to Roth, also at $0
4. Keep your income under the ACA cliff ($132K for a family of 4) and get subsidized health coverage
5. Let the IRA keep compounding until 59½
Retired early. $0 federal tax. Subsidized healthcare. Completely legal.
