Tomorrow: Barn Sprint F26 Demo Day and the YC deadline. We'll be there to watch the videos before they go in.
Waterloo keeps producing founders. The open question is whether their first cheque comes from here or from somewhere else.
Halfway through the sprint. Rough cuts this week.
The founders who've talked to the most customers are going to have the easiest edit. That's not a video skill.
Most rounds are priced in US dollars. Converted, Ottawa's $1.75B is about US$1.2B. Worth remembering every time the headline number gets quoted.

A YC application is a good forcing function even if you never send it. One sentence on what you do. One number that backs it up.
$75M for pre-seed and seed out of Ottawa's $1.75B. Welcome. Also not enough, and 12 to 18 months away.
The first cheques still have to come from people here.

Pre-seed in Waterloo: finding founders isn't the hard part. Being early enough to matter to them is.
Barn Sprint F26 is underway at Builders Club. Two weeks, a YC Winter 2027 video at the end.
We'll be at Demo Day on Nov 2.
One week until Barn Sprint F26. The ticket is $113 and $100 of it comes back if you show up Nov 2 with your YC video done.

What Barn Sprint F26 actually looks like: a morning read, a public standup, a 7-8pm build block every weekday, live check-ins Tuesdays and Thursdays, mentor office hours, and a Demo Day screening on Nov 2.
