O’Brien and Röhl gave Everton an outlet we weren’t expecting. Protecting the lead with some patience was a welcome change, too.

Mr Kinnear, was a right side comprised of a CM and CB part of the ingenious 2 window plan?
Hackney gave Everton another runner from midfield, while Tyler Dibling provided an outlet on the right. Barry chipped in with a high quality cross and the finish that put the final nail in Newcastle's coffin.
Incredibly chaotic, but a 3-1 cup win well worth enjoying.
James and Ryan on Newcastle, the midfield changes and a legit semi-final opportunity looming.

George wants to carry the ball. Johnson wants space to run into. Moyes picked both, then barely played directly.

ARSENAL🔴 2-0 🔵 EVERTON
Slog in the rain for the Toffees at the Emirates today. Miserable fixture as always.
Reactions? Did we learn anything new from that result?
Everton spent the first half making Chelsea hate every minute. They came back out and conceded before most of the Hill Dickinson crowd were back in their seats.
New pod on how an awkward afternoon for Chelsea became a comfortable one in 43 seconds.

EVERTON🔵 0-2 ⚪CHELSEA
A poor 2nd half that lacked any cohesion after a scrappy opening 45.
The Toffees face defeat for the first time this season.
Reactions, comments, questions for the pod?
Everton created six big chances, came from behind and took the lead at Hull. They still never looked in control of the match.
The full trio is back to discuss the transition problems, Branthwaite at LB, the Tark-Keane pairing, Moyes’ late changes and a mixed afternoon for Thierno Barry. We also react briefly to TFG officially putting up the "FOR SALE" sign:

Missed opportunity. Not getting 3 points against newly promoted sides has long haunted us.
At least today wasn’t a total loss for two of our members, Phil and Sam!
New heights of amateur podcasting today as we accidentally livestreamed our entire Hull post-match pod, only realizing 40 minutes in.
Congrats to anyone who caught an unplanned look at how the sausage gets made.
Evidence has since been destroyed. Edited pod out later!

HULL🟠 2-2 ⚪ EVERTON
Back from the break, a lively second half at the MKM Stadium sees the Toffees battle back to take the lead. Poor defending allows the home side to equalize. EFC still unbeaten.

Ipswich are 11th, the highest-placed team Everton have faced so far.
Obviously early days, but I’m still not convinced Everton have gotten a result against a genuinely good side yet. Certainly no one in form.

James makes a good point - but there's a wider one. I always see things like Everton (could be any English team) have 9 pts from 5, but rarely any mention of quality of opponents. Is there a reason? Feel like it's commonplace in the US to talk about strength of schedule.
Everton are fifth and still unbeaten after beating Ipswich 1-0.
It wasn’t especially convincing, but Barry took his chance, Dibling made a strong case for more minutes... and five clean sheets is five clean sheets.
James went live after the match and we've cut that discussion down into a short podcast and YouTube episode.
