I’ve spoken with several ADs in the last few weeks on this topic.
There is a clear divide forming in the G6.
“We want to have the opportunity to compete at the highest level” is the common theme from winning programs who aren’t making excuses in this era of college athletics.

November 14th is shaping up to be a massive day for college football.
Oregon State @ Boise State
North Texas @ UTSA
UNLV @ New Mexico
These games could be deciding factors in the race for conference championship appearances and, eventually, the CFP.
North Texas moves to 6-2 on the season, 4-0 in the American.
A massive November awaits the Mean Green, headlined by a November 14th matchup with UTSA that could decide a conference championship appearance.
The poop curse is the only thing that can explain the coaching decisions I have witnessed in the last 10 minutes
North Texas, Oregon State and JMU have new head coaches & almost entirely new production on offense, but they’re Top 5 in FBS.
The days of rebuilding via years of development are gone. Reloading with the right portal guys and getting the most out of them is the new skill gap.
Kind of crazy that multiple Top 5 G6 coaches are insinuating they were not involved in the On3 survey
What do three of the five teams leading the nation in points per game have in common?
Hint: 2025 —> 2026
Neal Brown had to find 70 new players in his 1st year as head coach of North Texas, replacing one of the most prolific offenses in school history.
The Mean Green are 5-2 and scoring 43 points per game (2nd in FBS).
If the P2 would agree to a promotion and relegation structure for football, this whole debate of G6 playoff access would end almost immediately.
W for the G6 commissioner and CFB Advocate. Join forces with me.
On3 had to delete that post about the G6 wanting a separate CFP because of how wildly misleading it was.

Claiming my first win of the season as G6 commissioner and THE CFB advocate.
On3 deleted their post after purposefully misleading readers about G6 coaches and their stance on a G6 playoff.
Group of 6 ADs, coaches, players, former players:
My DMs are open.
If you want to anonymously share your opinion on the G6 playoff conversation, shoot me a DM with your thoughts. Positive or negative.
Had some good conversations back in December. Let’s do it again.
This is not something an actual competitive person would say.
I’ve spoken with players from recent G6 teams, and not a single one of them said they would trade simply playing in the CFP for winning a G6 playoff.
