Sneak peek of a new app I'm building. It takes the pain out of App Store submission. With every app I build, my process and design system get better, and the next idea gets that much easier to make real.

With Claude Code I can build almost anything, which makes it harder to know when to say no. A feature used to cost a sprint, so you had to decide whether it belonged. Now it costs an afternoon, and the tradeoffs happen after it's built, if they happen at all. Tastemaker is an experiment in bringing that decision back before anything gets built. I’ve spent a lot of my career collecting digital assets. Saving them was never the hard part. Finding the right one was, and none of the apps I tried really worked, so I started building this app. It’s still early, but running local LLMs over the library has been really powerful. Every asset gets a description and detailed tags I can search. I’ve seen a few designers building something similar for screenshots, so here’s mine.

Playing around with a presence for Black Box, my private agent. It’s a pixel block in the title bar that shows what it’s doing. When it’s thinking it plays Tetris, and the longer it thinks the longer the game runs. If nothing happens for two minutes it shrinks a little and dozes until I tap it

Slow Sunday morning, building link cards for my agent.

I was opening Vercel and Search Console separately for every site I run. So I added a Sites tab to Black Box that puts them together. It shows me which of my pages almost made Google's first page. Gives me a place to start.

My agent Black Box now reads my bank feed and my Gmail together. The bank has the charge, the email has the receipt or the renewal notice. Side by side, it can flag a new subscription or a price increase before I'd ever catch it on a statement.

I showed my daughter @AugustCastilIo's squishy game and she wanted her own, with her favorite characters. So we built squiiish: nine jelly friends you poke, stretch and fling around her iPad, with 8-bit nursery rhymes in the background. squiiish.com
