Its sad we never got answer on this question but 3rd(!) critical bug in XCM in ~ 6 months. XCM is in development from late 2020. I would say anything if these incidents happened in early days not now. Luckily this one was smallest and basically 0 threat to @hydration_net despite being exploited in the wild. We stopped upgrading on newer versions of P. SDK 1 and half year ago as we stopped accepting notorious senseless insane changes of code for higher chance of bugs which was just validated as good decision. Unfortunately. What we found that even merging flawed, newer version would not work for an attack. Btw these constant changes of code are not just petri dish for future exploits, but the main reason why whole ecosystem went bust under weight of extremely unnecessary never ending breaking changes instead of building actual products. And then to hear “we are not impressed with products built here, we must build everything by ourselves”. LOL. It would be funny if its not sad. Btw every dev from any cex, staking service or other 3rd party service integrating Polkadot hates it for exact same reason and they don’t wanna touch it ever again even if they are offered money. Can be even lot of money. Thats why native USDT & USDC are not more adopted, despite crazy efforts from Hydration & Velocity side. Real stories. We were saying you all this for years. Even if you listened for once and established LTS and versioning it got better just lil bit, but instead of weekly breaking changes there were massive ones in monthly intervals. USDT wrapper which was in development for year didn’t survived w/o 1m+ loss less than a month in most basic xyk dex after meeting reality of your own code @paritytech . Before you will rambo style phase 2 of dotusd you should improve all things security related and communicate about it as transparently as possible instead of your renewed passion for opacity. Its very telling this was exploited instead of reported. But after treating white hats as trash (similar to everyone outside of your ivory tower) and offering them peanuts despite all your resources, you must invest more to get their attention again and prevent another disaster. You can’t develop new internet and new money in the same way which cost you whole ecosystem, support of the world and reputation between builders, researchers, audithors, investors or just ordinary fans. There is and there was never industry wide conspiracy against Polkadot. Only your own words, actions, inactions and mistakes. Critical time to stop repeating them. I would not write this if you are not top source of stress for me this year while I am also trying to build products for the people.
Replying to @sorpaas
@pierreaubert whats your strategy to decrease amount of these incidents to absolute minimum?

summer is hot we want to be hydrated we want more liquidity
The next few weeks at @hydration_net will be as hot as this summer with more action than the World Cup. First: We’re taking our RWA integration with @usedecentral, backed by Brazilian invoice financing, to the next level. We’ve created a vault-style liquid wrapper with a secondary market for the underlying asset. This means access to best-in-class RWA and crypto yield - 18% APY without being locked into a 2–3 month maturity. DCA into an 18%-yield-bearing token is going to hit differently. Still bored? Unlike the original NFT-based deposit, which is illiquid until maturity, the new token - BIL, will be liquid. That means you’ll be able to use it in looping strategies and potentially amplify that 18% yield. 🤠 Second: We’re staying in Brazil, but this time, the action isn’t coming from the Brazilian football team. It’s coming from the government bond market. We’re finally opening the pipes for stablecoins to flow between the @hydration_net Treasury and Brazil’s Ministry of Finance. On the way back, our Treasury will capture the massive spread between roughly 14% yields on Brazilian government debt and our own borrowing costs. That spread will help fund additional yield for Hollar users while supporting the accumulation of BTC, ETH, gold, and obviously - HDX, well ahead of the next bull market. There’s more, but I have to run. I just had to share this now so nobody can say they weren’t warned. 🫡🫡

at this point, there are probably only 2 or 3 people left on CT who are still bullish on DOT
.@Polkadot I am just retired from $DOT . I just got liquidated and lost all my savings from almost 10 years in Crypto on Hydration. I bet all my money on DOT and just lost it all. Thank you.

DOT DAO ≠ W3F Can W3F identify its own wallets so the so-called DOT DAO can exclude them from decision-making and from receiving revenue from the new $JAMKB token? After all, they are supposed to be just web3 researchers and non-profit organization
Gavin's JAMKB post is important. My simple understanding: JAM needs a way to limit how much high-speed state/RAM services can use. That is what JAMKB represents. 1 JAMKB = right to keep 1 KB of state in JAM. This is not meant to replace DOT. DOT remains governance, staking, collateral and coretime payment. JAMKB is more like a resource access token. Think land/storage rights inside JAM. The key point is that all JAMKB would initially be owned by DOTDAO, meaning DOT holders control how it is released. The big question now: How will developers buy JAMKB? DOT? dotUSD? Auction? Grants? Loans? For DOT holders, this matters because JAM can be technically brilliant, but the economic link back to DOT must be clear. medium.com/polkadot-network/…

the only ATH that Polkadot can afford 😭😂
“Decentralised” doesn’t magically mean democratic. Building new infrastructure is one thing, but building it around human freedom is the real test. We're looking forward to welcoming Florence D'Ath, PhD researcher in law and technology, to the Summit. She brings vital legal depth to the conversations too often treated at technical details — but are really about data protection, governance, and how digital systems collide with fundamental human rights. Don't miss it → web3summit.com/tickets/

They talk about saving democracy from centralized evil, but they can’t even stop being the villain to their own holders is it over, frens?
