Matthew Farwell’s legal team spent the night putting together a Rule 29 Motion for Judgment of Acquittal right as the prosecution officially rested its case. The move looks desperate, especially considering what went down right before it was submitted.
Chief U.S. District Judge Denise Casper has completely dismantled the defense’s core arguments from the bench, dealing a massive blow to their narrative outside the presence of the jury.
While Farwell’s attorneys paper the court claiming the government’s evidence is “insufficient,” Judge Casper explicitly found by a preponderance of the evidence that “Mr. Farwell caused the unavailability of the witness”.
Judge Casper’s findings completely undermine the entire basis of this acquittal push:
🔹️She cited the critical testimony of Dr. William Smock, explicitly detailing that the physical evidence points to a “homicide not a suicide” to ground her decision.
🔹️She highlighted that the physical and digital evidence aligns perfectly, stating, “We have the video surveillance and the testimony we just heard today.” This ties Farwell directly to the room as the last person alive with Sandra, stopping her phone activity.
🔹️She pointed directly to the shifting dynamic before the murder, noting that “the relationship with Mr. Farwell was changing before her death” as Sandra became increasingly “incessant with Farwell about what she wanted.”
Filing standard boilerplate motions overnight won't erase the fact that the court has already firmly stated Farwell likely killed Sandra Birchmore to silence her. The defense now enters their case completely back-pedaling against a devastating evidentiary record.

Wow, the DOJ now uses Sandra's phone, and video of Farwell, to show Farwell leaving Sandra's apartment at 9:43PM.
The last steps were recorded at 9:40PM on Sandra's phone.

Also, on another note, if you hate @DoctorTurtleboy to the point where you find yourself defending Matthew Farwell, or the state and local police who covered up Sandra Birchmore's murder, you probably are the problem.
Just sayin'.

Exclusive story from @LAmag as the Matthew Farwell's defense gets ready to begin presenting its case as early as tomorrow.
In the summer of 2024, as the FBI was closing in on Matthew Farwell, the then ex-Stoughton Police Detective wrote what a federal prosecutor called a "goodbye letter to his best friend," asking this his kids be taken care of.
Farwell ended that letter with: "see you on the other side."
Then, on July 5, 2024, Easton Police got a 911 call that a black GMC truck had plowed into National Grid pole head-on with such force, it split the pole in two. The truck's airbags all deployed in the one-vehicle collision that occurred very close to the ex cop's Chesnut Street home.
The driver? Matthew Farwell. He told responding officers slammed into the pole when he swerved to avoid hitting a deer.

Please support her mother and her family, so they can be by her side. There is no update on the investigation, but speak out loud for Teylani and show your support. Many hands can make many fists, but they can also hold each other in love and solidarity

On August 10/11, new MSP Trooper Robert Ladue was traveling at a high rate of speed in his cruiser on Belmont Street in Brockton when he T-boned another car, critically injuring 26 year old Leylani Moniz. She was med flighted to a Boston hospital where she was placed on a ventilator and underwent five surgeries in just the first week fighting for her life. She continues to fight for her life today in a rehab.
Trooper Ladue was only “cited” for negligent driving and speeding. It appears that the Bristol County DA is investigating instead of Plymouth DA Tim Cruz. Of course there is very little information out there about what’s going on. MSP is calling Ladue’s paid vacation “injury leave.” He suffered a broken arm.
This WCVB story👇is the only current news out there that I can find. MSP has become a legitimate danger to the public. Please share and don’t let them bury yet another trooper scandal.
