U.S.-based @LockheedMartin completed its $3.45 billion acquisition of another U.S. based company Ultra Maritime on October 26, 2026. In February 2025, Ultra Maritime signed a sonobuoy co-production agreement with 🇮🇳 India’s Bharat Dynamics Limited #BDL Production at BDL’s Visakhapatnam facility is planned to begin in 2027 for the P-8I, MH-60R, and MQ-9B Sea Guardian platforms. Ultra Maritime also partnered with India’s Mahindra Defence Systems on anti-submarine warfare and torpedo-defense systems for Indian Navy warships. The acquisition expands Lockheed Martin’s maritime warfare portfolio. No new India-specific contract linked to the acquisition has been announced. #Defence #IndiaUS

🇺🇸 President Donald J. Trump signed a proclamation on October 28 directing negotiations with trading partners over U.S. imports of #robotics , industrial machinery, and related #components under Section 232. - India exported $7.2 billion in machinery, nuclear reactors, and boilers to the U.S. in 2025. - Indian #exporters could face additional tariffs or import restrictions if negotiations lead to further measures. - The proclamation does not impose immediate new tariffs or specifically target India. #IndiaUS #Tarrif

🇮🇳 Unimech Aerospace and Manufacturing, through its wholly owned subsidiary Innomech Aerospace Toolings, has signed a long-term agreement with 🇺🇸 Honeywell Aerospace to manufacture precision aero-engine and control-system components through November 2036. The agreement builds on India’s existing aerospace trade with the U.S. World Bank WITS/UN Comtrade data show that India exported $306.7 million in aircraft parts under HS 880330 to the U.S. in 2024, out of $866.0 million in global exports under the same category. Unimech’s FY2025–26 annual report identifies the U.S. as its largest market and says approximately 90% of revenue is export-driven. The company also secured a $4 million ground-support equipment order under the LEAP engine program. The @honeywell agreement expands Unimech’s disclosed manufacturing portfolio into precision components and assemblies for #aero-engines and control systems. Its contract value and #defense -specific share remain undisclosed.

Today India's defence minister Rajnath Singh met secretary of war Pete Hegseth at ADMM-Plus in Cebu, marking one year of the 10-year India-U.S. Major Defense Partnership framework. Both leaders also held separate engagements with #Quad defence ministers on the sidelines. After the last Quad leaders’ summit in September 2024, U.S. secretary of state Marco Rubio confirmed a leaders’ meeting in #Manila alongside the November ASEAN summit. India’s planned 2025 summit did not take place. Meanwhile, the U.S., Japan, Australia and the Philippines are deepening defense coordination through the separate “#Squad” grouping. Japan and Australia are also participating in the U.S. Army’s UAS and Counter-UAS Marketplaces; India is absent from the published signatory list. The Philippines is deepening operational defense ties with the U.S., Japan, and Australia through exercise Balikatan 2026, which featured multinational live-fire drills and Japan’s first direct operational role. AI Takes Center Stage in Future Warfare: India Updates Army Doctrine as Pentagon Plans Autonomous Warfar Command 🇮🇳 Defence Minister Rajnath Singh released the Army’s Land Warfare Doctrine on October 23, calling for faster adoption of AI, autonomous systems, data analytics, and cybersecurity. Meanwhile, 🇺🇸 DoW has released a roadmap to establish its four-star Autonomous Warfare Command (AUTOWARCOM) by October 1, 2027.
