When a leader lends a helping hand to a mom so that she can participate in a meeting for her child...love that @MrsSaraMireles took the time to engage with a toddler so mom could participate in her child's education! #GoPublic @NISDBurke @TheMPena #OurWhy #ItsAboutThePeople

Staff retreat day included a scavenger hunt…one of the stops was my parents’ house. I love this picture of my dad and the 1st grade team! At Burke, we are family!

Our annual ALE Lemonade sale was a success! We are incredibly grateful to everyone who supported our lemonade sales with donations and purchases. More than 400 cups were sold- yes, 400 cups! Our students had a blast selling and they were so proud of themselves.

2nd grade student, Ethan, has been researching black holes, so his teacher, Mrs. Mandujano, set up a Zoom call with Mr. Martin, Science teacher at Taft and former NASA Ambassador. Way to go!

Measuring how much Ss grow is as important as measuring how high one can achieve. Today we surprised 4th & 5th gr Ss who had the highest % of growth on their MAP math test with their own trophy. A good reminder to all it’s not just about the highest score, but trying your best!
