Now is as good a time as any to abandon ship. When I can return to content in any capacity, Bluesky will be updated first. I’ll be more active over there, even during this current hiatus.

Please stop being cruel to each other over the Secret Lair sale. That’s like one employee of a billion dollar corporation getting mad at another because they make $0.25 more an hour. You’re facing the wrong direction.

It should come as no great surprise that a Democratic Party which has abandoned working class people would find that the working class has abandoned them. While the Democratic leadership defends the status quo, the American people are angry and want change. And they’re right.

BREAKING: New York has passed #Prop1! New Yorkers used their vote to permanently protect abortion statewide, and showed up for LGBTQ, immigrant, and disabled New Yorkers by approving the most progressive and comprehensive state Equal Rights Amendment in the country.

Do you think you will get back in to that? They keep printing cards I’m sure there will be some terrible ones to report on 😜

MTG’s IP doesn’t have the mainstream power that Pokémon or Yugioh have, and while I’d have been fine with things staying the same forever, that isn’t fair to the future generations who need the game to thrive so they can discover it too. 🧵

Look forward to making new memories. Meet new people. Introduce them to the things that make Magic the greatest card game in the world. It won’t be too long from now we’ll be able to say there’s something for EVERYONE here. 🧵

Look back fondly. Live in the moment. Hope for the future. It’s just a card game. YOU are what gives it meaning.

Both Pokémon and Yugioh have pronounced and powerful IPs that transcend their respective card games. When you think about it, MTG is the only one of the three that could do what it’s doing, truly something neither other juggernaut could, or even would, attempt. 🧵

If I was in a boardroom or a design meeting, and I was trying to think of fundamental ways to separate MTG from the other pillars of TCGs, ability to incorporate other IPs would be near the top of the list, whether I liked it or not. 🧵

I see the Universes Beyond era as Magic’s sequel of sorts. I will remember “classic” MTG for everything wonderful that it has been and continues to be. Games grow and adapt to new markets. No other “big 3” card game could do what MTG is doing. 🧵

To be clear, I'll never quit Magic. Love the game to death. Just an old man reminiscing and having an identity crisis. <3

I can use my platform for good instead of letting it rot. I'll try to share cool charity fundraisers. This one is pretty amazing. #mtg

When life overwhelms me I have a tendency to disappear. I waited so long to come back bc I didn't want to do exactly what I did and leave suddenly. I don't feel comfortable sharing a lot, but I had to pause everything to take care of a family member full time. Miss you all.

My family member is doing amazingly well all things considered. Assisting them will be my full time job for the foreseeable future. I will try to be more communicative about when content will resume, but I am in my current situation for the "long haul".

Finally, thank you to everyone who has reached out with kind words and well wishes. They don't fall on blind eyes. They are greatly appreciated. Hold your loved ones tight. Appreciate those around you. Love y'all.
