Just one factoid for @CavanCoBoardGaa 🔵 The Breffni men had their worst second half average concession since my records began back in 2010. On average they shipped 11.67 points per game in the second half over 2026. Time to work on the cardio, lads.

Some 2026 @Armagh_GAA factoids. 🟠 At 25.13 pts/game Armagh had their highest ever average score per game since my records begin in 2010. 🟠 They also had their highest ever avg 2nd half score (14.06), but that was countered by their highest ever avg 1st half concession (10.31)

Doing my aggregation exercise where I migrate season stats on to county aggregate sheets, so I'll be dropping a few factoids as I go along.

What else is there to be at a day like that other than sorting out debut years for your entire dataset. Here's the debut year spread for the listed 26s for @MayoGAA and @Kerry_Official in the All-Ireland final. Was expecting more of a telling pattern to jump out, if I'm honest.

As Ultan Harney hangs up the boots, here's my player profile for the @RoscommonGAA and @ClannGAA star. Injury unfortunately restricted his appearances, but he packed some fine football into the games he did feature in over the course of his career.

Hey @MaryKenny4. You'll recall I pulled you on your allegation Protestants weren't allowed to play GAA?Following your Garvaghey output. You know there is an organisation which explicitly excludes Catholics and women, party to this dispute, right? It ain't the Garvaghey Residents

It's the end of an era for @MagheryGAC's Aidan Forker as he calls time on a medal strewn career with @Armagh_GAA. Here's the player profile for a man who played right across the pitch over the course of his time with the Orchard.

As @Ethan_Raff steps away to spend more time with the bullets, here's the @GrangeGFC man's career number with @Armagh_GAA. Is #Armagh the only county seeing players leaving in this volume?

Orchard and @crossrangers legend James Morgan has exited stage left. Injury hampered Morgan's @Armagh_GAA career, but he did manage to run up a respectable caps tally for his county, with 68 appearances since making his debut as a 25th minute sub against Longford in the 2013 NFL.

As @Ballymacnab_GAA's @Grugs_91 hangs up the boots, here is his player profile. Made his debut v Down in the 2011 McKenna Cup. By the time he made his last appearance against Kerry this year the @Armagh_GAA legend had won it all.#Armagh #Ballymacnab.

A thread 🧵. I can't help sticking an oar in this integration debate. I have three daughters who all played. My eldest plays for our seniors. I train our under 8 girls. None of them are my children. I do it for the love of the game and the desire to share it with a new generation

The GAA should have had the strategic understanding to see what a potential timebomb this issue was, rolled up its sleeves and got the job done. Instead it kicked the can down the road, with all too predictable results. Their intentions were benign, their judgement all too poor.

That has resulted in considerable reputational damage being done, with gross distortions of reality getting free rein to dominate the public discourse. That could and should have been avoided with better, more assertive and insightful leadership.
