Blizzard won't always nail it, but if there is ANYTHING from the recent WoW Forever patch notes that gave me faith in the direction of the game it is this sentence right here.
Backporting abilities from future expansions is *NOT* the solution for Forever, or any version of the game that is made with the spirit of Classic.
We can have cool, NEW abilities/passives that make Forever an evolution of the game we love. For example, if I wanted to play Wotlk hunter, I'd play wotlk classic. I want Forever Hunter, with Forever Hunter-specific elements.

I really don’t think people understand how good Star Trek was for society. It was a thought-provoking powerhouse about humanity’s ability to realize we aren’t perfect.

It is entirely possible that the death of Sir Patrick Stewart and the outpouring of grief and admiration from people of all ages and backgrounds around the world will be the deciding factor that pushes @paramoplus and @Skydance to create a new Star Trek series that at least matches the level of writing and acting gravitas he brought to the franchise.

Retail will sadly be forever known as MISSED OPPORTUNITIES.
If it’s abandoned, I and many would not care. 😢🤷♂️
The writing, the decision making, the snarkiness against its own player base.
I’ve never felt loved by Retail tbh.

I loved this scene growing up (the ending of the ST:TNG Season 4 episode Reunion) both for Patrick Stewart's performance and for the writing. At its core, it's all about how leaders reconcile respect for differences with a shared mission and sense of purpose.

Another great moment to remember:

My hot take is that TNG, not TOS, made Star Trek into a true cultural phenomenon.
Without TNG, it's just a fondly remembered, often prescient, occasionally schlocky 1960s sci-fi series and sequel movies. But TNG reinvented and elevated the show, creating the franchise.
