Take it from someone who finally realized Republicans are bad in 2020 or whatever…
Right. Obviously. I hope this is the cycle that a new generation of far-left political hobbyists who live in extreme blue bubbles learn some basic lessons about general elections in swing states. Better now than in 2028.

One point the film NAZA makes, which may be obvious to some, is that one of the reasons Israel decided to strike Hamas fighters in their homes with family asleep rather than when they assembled outdoors is spelled out by one intel official: “There are only so many military sites in Gaza — hundreds? But there are lots of private homes. There are 40,000 operatives, so that’s nearly 40,000 homes.” The goal was to maximize the carnage and the destruction of civilians infrastructure and the killing of non-combatants. The AI used for targeting also identified many civilians as Hamas operatives — an official gives an example of a baker who has customers in Hamas; the AI would flag that he had been in contact with Hamas members and kill him and his entire family at home.

NAOMI KLIEIN to SAM ALTMAN: "...you ingested the entire written output of human civilization without consent, without compensation and without credit to build a system whose primary commercial application is eliminating the jobs of the people whose work you consumed. You are not 'liberating human creativity' -- you are strip-mining it and selling it back at a markup while calling the theft 'training data'."

This is an incredible story of corruption. I kinda love that the fake shell company the weapons maker used to bribe Susan Collins was called “Society of Young Women Scientist and Engineers LLC.”

“You’ve seen me deliver.” That’s what Collins told Kao, he said, as her staff pressured him to up his donations. Kao wound up giving the Collins super PAC $150,000 in late 2019. Weeks later, according to an email, Collins’ office agreed to support $32m in new Navatek projects.

Another enraging revelation from @AkbarSAhmed: To stop Bernie Sanders from forcing a vote to block weapons to Israel, Biden personally called him and led him to believe his administration was preparing to sanction Ben-Gvir. It was, of course, a lie.

Ed Sheeran PR nightmare ripple effect is fun to think about. Imagine the drug compound they’re having to compose pharmacologically right now to get Taylor Swift to stop pacing. She hasn’t slept for days.

“simply because it has caused more deaths”
If Hasan Piker thinks the US government is more evil than al-Qaeda simply because it has caused more deaths in absolute terms, wait until he finds out about his friends the Chinese government...

It’s good, actually, that this witch is making herself unemployable to future democratic administrations. Please keep it up. With luck, she’ll also poison everyone under 40 to CAP and we can all watch that die along with the rest of her cursed career.
I am sure the Gaza protests of Trump policy will definitely get started any minute now.

I’m amazed people are against building data centers to support AI when the best case scenario is it takes everyone’s jobs and consolidates all wealth in a tiny oligarchy and the non-negligible worst case is “killing all humans.”
Jacob is correct here—we really do earnestly believe AI could kill all humans! I personally think it is >10% within the next decade. I believe Anthropic is trying its best, but we do not yet have a plan to solve alignment for superintelligence and are not clearly on track to.

And a jetpack would be a faster way to get to work than the subway, but we live in the real world. In the real world, with a tied Senate + tight House majority, there was barely votes for what Biden got (THE LARGEST CLIMATE BILL IN GLOBAL HISTORY). We needed to work from there

New Deal Liberals: “We quadrupled workers’ earnings, quintupled farm and small business income, brought electricity to tens of millions who never had it before, and built visible public works in every community in America.” Today’s Liberals: “We passed a bill authorizing the government to spend hundreds of billions of dollars on climate change mitigation! (We have nothing to show for this money—hell, a lot of it wasn’t even spent—but still, you should give us credit for passing a bill.)”
A lot of people who were into climate politics weren't really in it for the emissions reduction. They were just radicals who wanted to tear down mainstream society. So when a liberal President did something about climate change but didn't do "burn capitalism", they yawned.

I dare you to look at what Dr. El-Sayed said after her said "Hurt people hurt people." "Ammon Khazi hurt people. There is no justification for what he did. It was wrong and he never should have done it. Hurt people. Hurt people. A week earlier, an air strike killed his niece and nephew. Imagine if that had never happened. Imagine there was no war in Iran. Imagine if there were no air strikes in Lebanon. Imagine if his family had never died. Imagine there was never an attack on Temple Israel. That's the world that we want to live in. That's the world we need to build for. Violence always begets violence. Only peace can extinguish that because hurt people hurt people." This is the exact same sentiment Dr. King taught us when he said, "Darkness cannot drive out darkness. Only light can do that." I'm begging you - my fellow Jewish Americans - please do not let these self-serving fools - like @benshapiro - convince you of something that just isn't true. They're playing a trick on us - the Republican and establishment Democratic establishment alike. OUR HONEST AND LEGITIMATE FEAR IS BEING WEAPONIZED AGAINST US FOR POLITICAL GAIN -- Our legitimate fear as a people for our safety, our well-being, and our very existence. This man is no threat. And any sort of real investigation would reveal that. If you're someone who cares about the truth - about getting it right - all you have to do is look up the context for yourself.
Reflecting on the attack at Temple Israel.

Incredible as it may seem, the Biden-Pelosi-Schumer plan post-J6 was to (1) rehabilitate the GOP brand; (2) restore "bipartisanship;" (3) insist that the US was in great shape. The rejection of normal adversarial politics was radical to a degree that most people don't grasp.
The Bernie pitch in 2020 was that everyone was going to have to do politics for four years, turning resistance energy into a reform movement. The Biden pitch was you can stop doing politics with me in charge, and Republicans will have an epiphany to fix the soul of the nation.
