Disappointing news - but I assume @zaib_05 had his reasons. I'm assured @NorthantsCCC tried to keep him, but I gather Hundred-hosting Hampshire - relegated in the Champo - will be his destination. From the County's point of view, it means chances for others in 2027 and beyond.

A huge blow for Northants... Zaib has been a great servant to the club, but it is frustrating he leaves with arguably his best years still ahead of him #nccc

FT! 2-0! Really solid, professional performance. Got themselves ahead early and then managed it smartly. Can't remember Colchester having a shot in the second half. Important and deserved win #ntfc

Excellent performance from #ntfc. Scored two well-worked goals & could have had more, with Colchester rarely threatening. It's been a difficult start to the season under Chris Hogg, but that was very encouraging, and it was entertaining! Might have to have a beer to celebrate!

Cobblers really good for 30 mins, should have been 2-0 up, wasted their chances, conceded a soft goal from a corner, and that was more or less that... never really threatened an equaliser in the second half. Another frustrating Sixfields encounter! #ntfc
