And I’m still not buying the “dark avatar” theory. Especially now
That finale genuinely hurt because learning that Nisha's fear created the Anomaly turns the whole story into a tragedy about a child so afraid of abandonment that she accidentally destroyed the family she wanted to keep. Pavi finally accepting herself and saving Ellora should have felt triumphant but watching her reject Nisha after their parents made that same choice was heartbreaking. I understand Pavi's anger after losing her parents and her leg yet Nisha was a terrified child too which makes their split so much harder to watch than some simple question of who's to blame. Ellora celebrating Nisha while she silently carries that guilt is cruel irony and Pavi leaving with Jae to follow the chakra path has me hyped for Book Two even though I hate what it took to get there
