A major UFC card can bring tens of millions of dollars in reported economic activity to a host city. The size depends on the matchup, traveling fans, length of stay, and surrounding fight-week events.
Figures come from economic impact studies released by UFC or its venue partners. The last figure includes International Fight Week activities.
The money comes through hotels, restaurants, bars, transportation, arena operations, and event production, plus subsequent spending by businesses and workers. For example, UFC 288 attracted approximately 61% of ticket buyers from outside New Jersey and generated $14.6 million in direct spending, which the study estimated became $25.1 million after ripple effects.
Economic impact does not mean city-government profit. These are modeled economic activity estimates; evaluating the cityās financial return also requires accounting for hosting incentives and public costs.
For Newark specifically, roughly $25ā$27 million per numbered event is a defensible recent benchmark based on its 2023 and 2024 results. Do not apply that automatically to a smaller Fight Night.

February 13th, 2027: UFC Cleveland (Per Bo Nickal) Only date that works for Rocket Arena
February 20th or 27th, 2027: #ufc337 rumored Strickland vs Imavov 2, UFC Middleweight Championship.
2/27 is now in play for Orlando (unlikely because the Friday before UFC 337 the arena is unavailable but funnier things happen)
AND
For only the 3rd time in 10 years the first weekend in March (Covid 2021, 2024 #ufc300) will not be the annual UFC Vegas March numbered event It will likely now be 3/20/2027 for #ufc338. The mentioned 3/6/2027 date is now gone because of a NCAA Allstate Big Ten Womenās basketball tournament.

Dan Miragliotta f.d up bad last night. Nothing more, nothing less. He cost Moicano the fight. The UFC definitely does not influence the refs. I no longer work for the UFC, and while I canāt speak to what influence they may or may not have, I personally donāt believe this was a directive from the promotion.
Perhaps the referee was influenced by the crowdās boos, or perhaps it was simply poor judgment. Either way, a professional referee has absolutely no business trying to make a sporting contest more entertaining.
A refereeās responsibility is to enforce the rules, not manufacture excitement. The moment entertainment value begins influencing officiating decisions, I believe the integrity of the sport also becomes compromised.
When a fighter is punished for successfully establishing a dominant position, weāre no longer rewarding effective MMA. Weāre actually undermining it.
I think the #ufcsaudiarabia card is in trouble. Reason I say that is Trump hinting after midterms renewed strikes may happen, Iran tweeting out saying to update US target list, and if it is in trouble pivot why there is a delay in announcing the full #ufc335 card bc some of those fights could pivot to 335 including Issy. #ufc #mma
