*New article* Unis have come a long way w/ inclusion, but we have much more to go.
As one student shared, 'Why would I expect industry to be inclusive when the uni, where people should learn about how to be inclusive, still isn't?'

Listening to @JuusoNieminen on Assessment and student identity formation at #CRADLE
He asks, how are student IDβs constructed by student themselves as well as others β and what is the role of assessment here?

AI is just another voice in the room - we need to learn when to trust it and when it's just telling us what we want to hear. Simon Buckingham Shum #chatGPTHigherEd @CRADLEdeakin @TEQSA

Lucinda also points out that everyone should read the Ts&Cs on ChatGPT: that they will take your material and use it in ways they see fit. It's also not appropriate for high stakes assessment and they say it's not to be used as such.

Lucinda also wonders about the Sisyphean labour that might be required when involving ChatGPT- checking references etc. Simon says this is an artefact of the early release of an engine that doesn't have integrated search functions etc.

Simon senses there's a tension between students learning the stuff that AI can do, and learning the stuff that AI can't do. Lucinda points out we need to do both - they won't know how to do the latter before the former, they have to be experts first.

We need to think about writing as a thought process, rather than an end product. Lucinda McKnight #chatGPTHigherEd @CRADLEdeakin @TEQSA

It's too late to disentangle what we do. However, on the beautiful writing q - it's dystopian that all humans will be doing is tinkering with AI generated text. Editors of writing need even more EJ and skills than writers... there's still a role for humans.

.@LucindaMcKnigh8 argues students have been using AIwriting tools for years, chances are weβve all marked papers that have used them. ChatGPT was just the tool the popularised AI writing. For example, Lucinda talked about Wordtune: wordtune.com #chatgpthighered
And @margaret_bea begins talking on 'assessment design for a with genAIβ, and how we can design genAI into our assessments. #chatgpthighered
.@margaret_beaβs tips for adapting assessments to genAI , where genAI cannot make judgements around quality. #chatgpthighered
In response to detecting students using genAI support their judgement making; @margaret_bea doesnβt suggest we try and βcatch students outβ. Rather we should set the parametres for their judgement making, and encourage complexity (which genAI doesnβt do well) #chatgpthighered
