Cc @Zorpheous We are seriously short of jail space over here, that is the only reason I can see for this disappointing leniency.

This one from the archive, police ‘embargo’ expired. Sometimes it is not obvious why drivers are doing what they are doing. This is a prime example.

What she was looking at I don’t know, I was not wearing shorts.

Drive like it is your daughter waiting to cross; drive like it is your grandchild waiting to cross.

This pedestrian was wearing high-visibility clothing, but that did not stop these ‘professional’ drivers misbehaving. Not worthy of police reports, but I have always found the taxi licensing authorities receptive. ps ‘waiting’ is picked out in high-vis too, also hard to miss.

My first impression was that the car had broken down, but ‘No’, it appears that the driver thought that the junction was the best place to make or take a call, or scroll TikTok or Facebook, or whatever.

Read the bleating nonsensical replies to this post – @CitizenUddin , your good work maybe?
Got a letter about driving through a red light ffs. Was temporary lights which I’ve always thought don’t have cameras. Fucking outrageous

Highway Code H2, it could not be clearer, but… ps If you pull a stunt like these three did I will check visible registration plates, very much hoping that your vehicle is illegal.

If I successfully capture footage of a driver using a handheld mobile telephone I ‘run’ the plate. Deuces are now wild for the driver and keeper.

A hat-trick in four minutes this afternoon, all moving targets too. Do I get to take home the phone or the car?

At last, a BMW driver obeying the Highway Code instruction to leave at least 1.5 metres clearance when overtaking a cyclist.

Jim D has carefully analysed the evidence of this double close-pass, and has concluded that the camera cyclist was to blame for the driver’s actions. Don’t be like the driver, and don’t be like Jim D - currently known as @Dorrit2014 .

What could explain the gap which has opened up in the traffic queue? Oh! That will do.

Despite the morning sun playing havoc with auto-exposure you should still be able to enjoy the sight and sound of a driver on his handheld phone kerbing his wheel.

Even when evidence of phone use is too sketchy for a police report it is satisfying to know that there will be an amount of angst beginning from the moment they realise they have been caught on camera. Will they tell a partner tonight, or wait for a letter that won’t arrive?

Will contact from the police encourage a driver to change their spots? Super slo-mo as Bet Lynch was not hanging about.

I’ll give this driver a by, partly because I can’t say for sure that he was ‘using’ a new Apple iHotPotato phone, & partly because in our chat he appeared genuinely remorseful, & partly because the video shows drivers how quickly the cost of driving can be upped by bad decisions.
