Some moments remind us why the work matters.
On Saturday, 21 girls graduated from #TYW4Girls
They danced, sang, performed and celebrated their growth.
Parents shared with us the progress they had seen in their girls.
21 girls. 21 voices. Endless possibilities.
We are so proud.
A girl’s future should be hers to discover, not one decided for her! To close out our
#InternationalDayOfTheGirl reflections, our Fatima Gomez, shares a message that sits at the heart of why we do this work. #EndingChildMarriage & #InvestingInGirls are part of that.
#TYWStaff
Girls should never have to shrink their dreams to fit the limits society places on them.
As we spotlight the voices of our staff, our @john_sukai, shares her perspective on creating an free future every girl.
#InternationalDayOfTheGirl #InvestInGirls #TYWStaff
Ending child marriage means the freedom of girls to explore the thousand possibilities their futures hold.
Still in the spirit of #InternationalDayOftheGirl, our Marian M. Bass, shares her perspective on why ending child marriage must be a priority.
#InvestInGirls #TYWStaff
A girl’s future should belong to her, not be decided for her!
Still spotlighting the voices behind the fight for girls’ rights, Isatou Jallow, our Programme Officer, reflects on the urgency of ending child marriage & protecting girls’ futures.
#InternatinalDayOfTheGirl #TYWStaff
When we invest in girls, we invest in the possibilities they carry and the futures they deserve.
As we continue celebrating the #InternationalDayOftheGirl throughout the week, here are some thoughts from our Programme & Finance Associate, Rose Lawal.

8 days. 2 regions. 60 women. 1 vision.
The #YoungWomensLeadershipLab ends but Our journey with these 60 women continues. We want more women not just in leadership, but shaping decisions at every level.
Supported by the @EUinTheGambia under NEXT-P, implemented by @DemocracyIntl.
Last week, @john_sukai represented TYW at the WANEP Regional Forum in Dakar, Senegal, at the invitation of @EUinTheGambia.
The forum focused on women and youth in governance, elections & peacebuilding.
Thank you to the EU & WANEP for the opportunity.

Mentorship builds leadership, agency and voice. This is the heart of why we do this work. When girls have the right tools and support, they find the confidence to speak truth to power in their own words.
Lets #InvestInGirls this #DayOfTheGirlChild

Girls deserve more than a seat at the table. They deserve the freedom, support and opportunities to shape the world around them.
For this year’s #InternationalDayOfTheGirl, Oumie Jagne, our Senior Programme Officer, shares her take on what it means to invest in girls.

Day 3 of #YoungWomensLeadershipLab in partnership with @DemocracyIntl.
More openness, honesty & connection.
From conflict & mediation to VAWG & political violence, our participants brought community realities into the room & one message stood out: Women will stand for women!
Day 2 of #YoungWomensLeadershipLab ticked off!
We officially opened with remarks from Oumie Jagne, Pablo Perez of @EUinTheGambia & Ngoneh Jeng of @DemocracyIntl.
From honest reflections to Kanyelengs expressing their hopes for more women in Parliament.
It's just Day 2, let's go!
We officially kicked off the #YoungWomensLeadershipLab in WCR as part of the @EUinTheGambia supported NEXT-P Project, led by @DemocracyIntl. 30 participants, 3 mentors.
Day 1 marked a full-circle moment: mentors who were once supported by TYW are now mentoring the next generation
Why do we invest in girls?
Because the girl we mentor today can become the woman creating that same space for others tomorrow.
In 2016, @tima_geee joined #TYW4Girls as a mentee. Today, she is our Programs & Comms Assistant & mentor.
This is our why. This is our impact.
And just like that we had our final #TYW4Girls session at the beach.
The girls explored practical self-defence followed by a beautiful painting session, creating art that reflect something meaningful to them.
A fitting end to 3- weeks of learning, reflection, growth & connection
