US President Donald Trump has booted South Africa out of AGOA, with effect from 1 January 2027.
I won’t bother explaining the repercussions. It won’t make a difference, because people’s views on this issue are shaped by whether they hate Trump or not.
Borrowing from economist Thomas Sowell’s philosophy, all I can say is that actions have consequences, in both domestic and foreign policy.
For the past two years, I’ve been saying that US action on South Africa will be incremental, a series of steps. More is coming if the South African government doesn’t take the US seriously, and I doubt it will.
President @CyrilRamaphosa and his supporters play the victim and scapegoat Afrikaners, pretending they are simply being bullied by Americans. The issues predate Trump, and the ANC knows it. They know very well what they have been doing.
I’m one of the economists who have warned the South African government about its ill-thought-out domestic and foreign policies for a decade. I knew this was coming.
And I’ve repeatedly asked a simple question: why chant “Kill the Boer” in a democratic South Africa? Many people around the world don’t understand it, and I have never understood why we think we are entitled to chant such things. All that question has earned me is insults and name-calling. I don’t care. I’ve been taking it for a decade. But all that is happening now vindicates my views.
It will be interesting to see what the US does next, because the ANC is unlikely to take Washington seriously. During the Cold War, the ANC was aligned with communists and anti-American governments in many parts of the world. It has never let go of that alignment, and it won’t, because it’s broke and desperate for money.
And here’s the sad part: it's ordinary South Africans who will pay a serious price, not the ANC’s elite. #economy #politics #AGOA #markets

If you look at Cape Town, DA spends 75% of their R40+Bn capital (infrastructure) budget on townships. The rest of the 25% goes to urban area.

The South African government blocked Starlink from operating here due to the ownership being too White.
They then promised to create their own version of it, and set aside huge money for this new SOE.
It turned out to just be an agency for another overseas Satelite Internet Company: incredibly slow, and 3 times more expensive than Starlink.
Four months later the entire company and the all money have disappeared.

South Africa is out of AGOA. All they had to do to prevent this was to scrap the "nil compensation" expropriation act, condemn "Kill the Boer", prioritise rural safety & scrap BEE.
But the resentment for farmers and whites runs so deep that the ANC would rather cut off the nose to spite the face.

FIRST ON FOX: The State Department is accusing South African politicians of endangering the lives of Afrikaners by inciting race-based violence — following two gruesome new attacks on white farmers near Johannesburg.
A 50-year-old man was shot, stabbed, and had his ears cut off on his farm. The perpetrators also attempted to castrate him. He is fighting for his life in a hospital. In a separate attack in the same province, Hannetjie van Zyl, 55, was beaten to death with an iron bar while opening a gate on her property.
The State Department told Fox News Digital that the U.S. has demanded South African officials condemn the incitement, particularly the chanting of "Kill the Farmer! Kill the Boer!" at mass rallies — a demand President Ramaphosa has refused.
The U.S. says South Africa's lack of a meaningful response "made clear that the South African government does not want a constructive relationship with the United States."
Nearly 13,000 Afrikaner refugees have already been flown to the U.S. this fiscal year, with another 17,500 expected next year.

Fikile Mbalula blaming potholes on "climate change" is the absolute peak of the liberation movement's cognitive shallowness.
It is an embarrassing, logic-defying admission of governance bankruptcy. According to the ANC Secretary-General, road infrastructure doesn't collapse because of billions looted through inflated tenders, non-existent maintenance, or corrupt cadre deployment, no, the asphalt is simply suffering from a lack of revolutionary discipline under the rain.
The performative nationalism of the ruling elite is pure aesthetics, a cheap smoke screen masking a brutal, predatory patronage state.
Behind the fake patriotism is an executive machinery that has completely detached itself from the material conditions of ordinary citizens, surviving entirely on press briefings, luxury deployments, and a total refusal to account for public funds.
When a liberation movement transitions from a governing majority into a desperate political entity, its entire apparatus shifts from state-building to aggressive excuse-manufacturing.
Billions are allocated annually to infrastructure, only to be redirected into administrative overheads, legal battles, and shelf-company tenders given to political cronies rather than qualified contractors. Yet, when the state fails to deliver basic road networks, clean water, or functioning hospitals, nature itself is weaponized to excuse local government bankruptcy.

Municipalities lack technical capacity precisely because skilled professionals have been purged to make room for politically aligned patronage networks.
The party model requires a weak state apparatus, because if institutions are robust, transparent, and merit-based, the illicit cash flows feeding the political elite instantly dry up.
The normalization of this evil incompetence and lunatic corruption is embarrassing.
When the highest-ranking administrative officer of a ruling party looks at a cratered, vehicle-destroying public road and attributes it to rain rather than a failure of governance, he is telling the electorate that basic standards of modern statehood do not apply to them.
A nation cannot be built on historical nostalgia and performative "renewal" statements while its core infrastructure burns and a select few count the spoils of a captured state.

On Saturday, 24 October, at a rally in the North West province, EFF leader and convicted criminal Julius Malema again called for the slaughtering of white people and farmers in South Africa with the hateful "Kill the Boer"-chant.
4 days later, on Wednesday morning the 28th, also in the North West province, farmer Donovan Marx was attacked, shot in the back, stabbed, beaten, and tortured.
