Oh god. Make. It. Stop.

The election is over, and the work for Vancouver is what matters now. I'm honoured to lead Mayor-elect Pete Fry’s @PtFry transition and help his team get off to a strong start. When the mayor succeeds, Vancouver succeeds.

Thanks Mike Howell @Howellings for a great synopsis of our last meeting today and for continuing to steadfastly cover civic government. It matters. I remember meeting you when I was on School Board and taking questions from your journalism students. With gratitude. 🙏 #vanpoli

Well knock me over with a feather: Black Press has published an article in favour of proportional representation. It admits that the election results do not reflect the popular vote. That we have to keep going over this is like Groundhog Day albernivalleynews.com/2026/1… #bcpoli

There’s not a lot to find amusing about tonight’s results, but here are a couple things: 1) Dallas Brodie got dealt a brutal loss 2) Andrew Weaver wasn’t even the most popular candidate named Andrew in his riding

The PM calling Mayor-elect Pete Fry is the kind of relationship Vancouver needs with Ottawa. Working with every order of government takes humility and a clear sense of the job. Very encouraging to see Mayor-elect Fry already making inroads.

“…the Villages Plan, as clunky as it was, should give folks a…bit of a signal where we probably need to go, which I think is 4-to-6 storey, wood-frame, single egress staircase apartments. We need to build a lot more of that because we can build that faster and cheaper.”

Congratulations to Pete Fry @PtFry on being elected Vancouver's next mayor. He and his team ran a strong campaign and earned voters' confidence. While we don't agree on everything, we share many of the values that matter to Vancouver. I wish him every success. #VanPoli

Yesterday's election was extraordinary and today it's still sinking in that we actually did this. It was a remarkable victory for all the people who organized, volunteered, and voted because they knew we needed something better for Vancouver. Heartfelt thanks to all of you. /1
