The industry tried to cancel her and the media lied on her. From the fake funeral and Tidal equity robbery to the smear campaigns and bot accusations. Democrats ignored her when she needed help the most, yet she still won and the Barbz never left. True Queen behavior. She’s still the most awarded rapper male or female and the most successful & impactful female rapper alive. 👑🎀🇺🇸

On June 11, 2017, Remy Ma gathered several female rappers — including Cardi B, Queen Latifah, Lil’ Kim, Young M.A, MC Lyte, Rah Digga, and Lady of Rage — and held a symbolic “funẽral” for Nicki Minaj. Despite this, Nicki Minaj later collaborated with Cardi B, gave a shout-out to Queen Latifah, brought Young M.A out on her sold-out Pink Friday 2 tour, and has continued to work with female artists across the industry.
In February 2026, Kelly Rowland claimed that Cardi B and other female rappers are “girls’ girls” and exclude Nicki Minaj. However, the interview was edited, and the portion where she said Nicki Minaj is not a “girls’ girl” was cut. (Allegedly)
Tidal was launched in 2015. Nicki Minaj was one of the artists invited to become a partner with an equity stake in the streaming service, alongside Jay-Z, Beyoncé, Rihanna, J. Cole, and others. The goal was to give artists more control over their music and revenue, unlike other platforms where labels and tech companies dominated the profits.
Tidal claimed it would pay artists more per stream than Spotify, Apple Music, and other competitors. Many later reported that these promises were misleading.
Rihanna’s album ANTI was set to drop in January 2016 but appeared early on Tidal’s streaming service, reportedly due to glitches.👀 ANTI was initially intended to be released exclusively on Tidal and sold only 460 copies in that window. Rihanna later made ANTI available on all major streaming platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music, and Google Play. Today, ANTI is considered one of the most successful albums of its era. Rihanna then took a break from music and has not released another album since.
Some fans speculated that Rihanna was being suppressed so Beyoncé could shine brighter than others in the industry. These were fan theories.
These artists were — and still are — among the biggest names in the industry, and their influence helped promote Tidal.
Nicki Minaj actively supported and promoted Tidal. She frequently appeared at Tidal offices and headquarters and consistently promoted the platform across her social media. Long before Tidal’s sale — which was triggered by financial struggles and solvency issues — Nicki often shared screenshots of music she was listening to via the Tidal app, along with lyrical shout-outs that reinforced her endorsement.
Tidal was sold in March 2021. Nicki Minaj was offered $1 million. Her issue was not the original equity arrangement but the post-sale payout offer. Being offered just $1 million, accompanied by an NDA meant to keep the matter quiet, was seen as a slap in the face — especially since multiple publications had previously reported that each founding artist held 3% equity, which would have translated to an estimated $8.9 million each.
Nicki Minaj has faced numerous challenges, including her home being swatted three times — twice in a single year — while she had a toddler in the house.
Despite calling on Democrats and Governor Gavin Newsom for help after being thrẽatened by a streamer who said she should be “put in a blẽnder,” she received no response. She later reached out to Representative Luna, a Republican, who responded and assisted her. Following this, Nicki Minaj was publicly associated with Republicans.
Many social media users questioned why Gavin Newsom did not respond, speculating whether his relationship with Jay-Z and Roc Nation played a role.
After Nicki Minaj was associated with Republicans, several publications — including Billboard, Rolling Stone, and Forbes — published articles claiming she had lost 10 million followers. However, Nicki Minaj had deactivated her Instagram account prior to those reports. Additionally, her music was removed from iTunes, leaving many fans unable to access it. These efforts did not succeed in damaging her career. 👇🏽👇🏽👇🏽👇🏽👇🏽👇🏽👇🏽👇🏽

Huh ? So if she’ll ever block ur mama you’ll block her too ? Are u Nicki’s salve ? Tf is wrong with u bitches wtf
Being a barb is such a struggle now. You simply cannot even interact with anyone casually on the timeline anymore without being labeled a paid mole. Do y’all even have jobs and lives outside this app? Take a chill pill and go start a family and make some friends. Fucking weirdos
Like this shi is so fucking bipolar and draining it’s so sad. Niggas can’t even do nothing anymore without being labeled “paid moles” lobotomies are needed. Straitjackets are needed and new brain cells need regeneration. Fucking dummies
We all love Nicki but you’re out of your goddamn mind if you think Nicki cares about you being her cyber security man. She cares about us but doesn’t care like that so all this hassle you’re putting into monitoring her likes and blocks, if you put it in your own personal life…
