A productive smallholding with a few passengers (well okay, quite a few!) Pigs, poultry, goats, sometime sheep and now a donkey. New book out now.

If I purchase a €9 meal and sit outside will I survive?
If not, how many days do I have to wait before the ‘science’ creates a new vaccine?
And just for safety, should I purchase some face masks to protect myself?
I have many more questions @rtenews 👍

Pig farmers are demanding a handout because, like all of us, they are struggling with increased costs. @McConalogue can you please limit any help to those who actually abide by the EU Pig Directive i.e. do not routinely dock tails and clip teeth?

This is an Irish pig farm. Please sign the petition calling on the Minister to enforce the law. Pigs deserve a life free from painful mutilations, with the legal amount of space and enough manipulable materials to keep them occupied, preventing fighting.

We are starting a pig campaign to highlight the appalling conditions the majority of pigs in Ireland are forced to live in and push for change. There are 1.6 million pigs in Ireland but where are they all? Any donation will be much appreciated. Thank you

‘Whaaat? I’m retiring?’ Rose isn’t going to have any more calves. She will retire here on the farm as she’s worked very hard for us. She’s 18.

In a lot of cases, rare flowers are there, we just need to stop mowing to see them. Like the lovely Bee Orchid that emerged in Waterford – at Kilkenny, Ireland

Our little orphan piglet is doing well. She’s living in our house, is bottle fed around the clock, and weather permitting gets to explore the big wide world.

Hi folks. My Siamese cat, who is chipped, has not returned home yet and I’m offering a €250 reward to anyone who finds him and gets him home to me.

ATTN Monkstown/Dun Laoghaire one of my Siamese boys has gone missing and we’re frantic looking for him out and around. He’s on the very right in this picture, adorable and not used to being out. Please contact if you see him.

When considering tonight's meal, I remembered that the amazing @martharoberts had recently sent us dome of her fabulous pork. I had nothing else to hand, but that's where the fun is 😁

Delilah was the most productive Large Black sow we ever had, regularly farrowing 9-12 piglets twice a year for about 8 years.
She is now retired and does absolutely nothing. Thoroughly deserved....
