That’s the signal: “If we didn't give it back, nobody would ever invest in the dollar again.”
Trump on Iran: Well, the unfreezing — it's an easy one to answer. We have taken a lot of their money, and we have — their money we have taken from them. When it's not our money, it's their money, and we froze it at a certain point in time. I guess we're going to have to give it back, you know? If we didn't give it back, nobody would ever invest in the dollar again.

In Tennessee, sleeping in your own car can land you in prison for six years. Not a fine. Not a warning. A felony. Cities across the US keep passing ordinances that ban sleeping in vehicles, and the people getting caught are the ones with nowhere else to go. You lose the apartment, you keep the car, and the car becomes the last thing standing between you and the sidewalk. Then the law shows up and makes that a crime too. The logic folds in on itself. Punish someone for being homeless by handing them a record that makes housing and work even harder to get. A blanket in a back seat. Six years.

Delayed, not dead. KOSA will for sure be back after the election. Senator Rand Paul was able to block the attempt to pass it with unanimous consent last week, but keep in mind that 76% of the senate are signed on as co-sponsors of KOSA. The bill requires data collection, censorship, and surveillance...and creates a de fact digital ID just to use the internet. Supporters say KOSA does not require age verification, but the policy creates legal obligations that require platforms to "know" which users are minors. 🧵

Imagine Boeing's CEO saying the world should accept a few plane crashes to get faster innovation in aviation. He'd be gone by lunch.
“We believe the world should accept some bad things happening for the benefits of this technology.” In a conversation for the first edition of Decoded, a new daily newsletter and podcast, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman talked with POLITICO’s @BrendanBordelon about trade-offs, AI safety, and how his company is different from Anthropic. Things are getting real. Notice how well the shot against Gavin Newsom was received. @RoKhanna is talking about the one thing no one in politics and media wants to talk about - corruption. It’s time to name names! The poison of money in politics is also in the Democratic Party.
Ro Khanna: “These billionaires are putting in $200M to try to kill Proposition 40. Some of the SEIU-UHW members I’ve talked to are tired of Democratic politicians like Gavin Newsom taking their marching orders from the donors who would fund a future presidential campaign. We are tired of a governor defying grassroots delegates in the California Democratic Party all because he’s on the side of Trump allies like Peter Thiel and Sergey Brin. You can’t pretend to be anti-Trump if you’re doing the bidding of Trump donors”

Anatomically modern humans have existed for around 300,000 years. Everything we call history fits in the last 5,000. Whatever happened in the other 295,000 left almost nothing we can read. What are the odds nothing happened at all?

Ratio complete ✅ 26.3 million followers can't save The Economist from their hypocrisy. El Salvador's example puts the UK establishment to shame. More freedom. TRIPLE the UK's real GDP growth rate... President Bukele is The Economist now.
Replying to @TheEconomist
"Dictator" is especially hypocritical coming from the UK, where your government arrests over 10,000 people per year for online speech. It's sad that the UK has been declining for so many decades that many of you have forgotten what a real success story looks like

No new products, just higher prices. The 128GB M5 Max MacBook Pro went from $5399 to $6999 (+29% more expensive!) A customer of ours bought 42 of these just before the price increase - they saved $67,200. If you want to run local AI, you need to secure hardware ASAP. We're tracking live price changes on local.ai, so you can see what hardware is the best price / perf tradeoff, and how much you'll actually save vs cloud.
