Newton's own handwritten annotations on Principia: fixing spelling mistakes (WTF?!!) of the first edition (missing "c" in "auctore" and correct ablative "Newtono") as well as career progression "equite aurato et regio societatis praeside" (knight bachelor and president of the RS)

Oliver Soden’s elegant biography of H.H. Munro, better known as Saki, reveals a complex man: was his real character the dandy who skewered the English upper classes, or the fervent patriot who died in the trenches?

Fabulous report here by researchers at Warwick University who've done a massive job of data cleaning to work out the true number of new homes given planning permission in the last 20 years - and headline is that Gov't figures overcount by a staggering 43% thinkhouse.org.uk/site/asset…

Thank you to @pressgazette for standing up for investigative journalism and press freedom after it received more than 500 complaints regarding my nomination for this year's British Journalism Awards pressgazette.co.uk/news/awar…
The facts on Arday have not changed. He did not misspeak / get it wrong. He lied. The facts are pretty well established despite his subjects looseness with them and Helen Lewis’s article a good place to start. Peter Jukes is running a PR campaign for his newspaper based on the death of Jason Arday in which he uses dull but repetitive underhand means to undermine solid reporting by other journalists, implying the worst possible motives to their work. This is his vicious little grift.

Amazing: journalist does journalism to discover something, and because everyone is so used to people living by press release, they literally can't believe the journalist found it out on their own.

This is the pedestrianisation of a main road as pointless media event. Photos shared, experiences of new normal detailed; until all the boring stuff about displaced traffic and cycling infractions and its shit and we simply must have a swimming pool in the Thames at Blackfriars.

To Western commentators, the elections in Serbia were about restoring democracy, but THEY WERE NOT ABOUT THE EU OR RUSSIA!
“Please can someone tell me whether they are goodies or baddies.”
Replying to @maitlis
What is complicated is the Student list party have ruled OUT sanctions on Russia. And haven’t committed to EU membership . They are predominantly anti corruption and pro democracy. But their foreign policy aims are still unclear …
