Our second product is called Blindsight and it will, as the name suggests, enable even those who are completely blind or have never seen to see.
It is ready from an engineering standpoint. Just waiting on regulatory approval.

Optimus belongs in the Roadster on 10/01.
Any chance the latest Optimus gets a seat (or the wheel) at the reveal?

Wow, this is huge. Tesla is introducing a new active safety feature called Automatic Collision Evasion.
We know Full Self-Driving is great at avoiding accidents, but that's only when it's on. This new feature, when enabled, will allow the vehicle to enable FSD itself when necessary to avoid a collision.
Now, instead of just applying Automatic Emergency Braking to stop the vehicle, the vehicle will be able to steer to avoid a crash as well. Great to see.
Interestingly, the accelerator pedal, brake pedal, and steering will be muted while the evasive maneuver is in progress.
Not a Tesla App reports that the feature will only be available to users who paid for FSD. Not sure if that's true, but if it is I would encourage Tesla to make it available to all Tesla owners if possible. Safety at Tesla always comes standard, not behind a paywall.

Now you all know Tesla has solved real-world AI. You’ll definitely want to purchase a new Tesla for yourselves and give FSD a try. Having your own personal chauffeur is something you dreamed of as a kid, just like I did.
Please feel free to use my referral link. It’ll help us both out.

WSJ's Dan Neil on @Tesla's FSD (Supervised):
"By the end of the second hour—I was bewitched. FSD is amazing. I acknowledge I am a sample group of one, with only the scantest evidence to work with. Still, I know good driving when I see it. Mile by mile, the FSD started to earn my confidence. In the whitewater-like eddy and flow of rush-hour interstate traffic, FSD held its position beautifully: stopping distances, following distances, lane centering, the gradients of acceleration, steering and braking, all playing out in smoothly continuous linear functions."
