The year is 2026. Politicians are now so inept and myopic that a few brave mavericks want to put into law that politicians must estimate the long-term consequences of their policies. hs.fi/politiikka/art-2000012…
There are many problems on the Finnish labour market but it's still hilarious to observe that "higher ed degree" are basically magic words and provoke no questioning whatsoever. is.fi/taloussanomat/art-2000…

Also, the Plaza Accords didnt kill Japan but The Bank of Japan's reaction to the Plaza Accords did.
Japan was less export dependent than the other Plaza Accord countries affected (France, UK, Germany). Only 14% of Japan's GDP was exports. The pop narrative was that Plaza overvalued currency killed Japanese competitiveness and exports. But as you said, Japan continued to grow in exports.
The real issue with Japan was the Bank of Japan slashing interest rates and the money went to real estate & stocks over manufscturing and infra. Then when Bank of Japan raised rates in the late 80s/ early 90s, the bubble popped.

Perustimme Puolustusvoimien avaruusoperaatiokeskuksen Tikkakoskelle. Keskus aloittaa toimintansa 1.1.2027. Alkuun siellä toimii 20 henkilöä, ja määrä kasvaa lähivuosina. Avaruussuorituskykyjen kehittäminen on nykyaikaiselle puolustukselle välttämätöntä. 🇫🇮

I know many people are losing their minds over both SanDisk and Kioxia at the moment but I'm fascinated by their long-standing, very successful joint venture. It's a difficult thing anyway in tech but it also survived SanDisk being bought and spun off and Toshiba's meltdown.
lmao
