We enrolled our first patient in the Protected-TAVR Trial today. This landmark study of 3,000 pts aims to elucidate the clinical utility of percutaneous cerebral embolic protection (CEP) vs no CEP in all types of TAVRs.

Very challenging #TAVR, 61 years M with bicuspid AS Sievers type zero, morbid BMI=60 😲, DM, LAD stent, recent stroke, turned down by surgery b/c of extreme risk. done with Trans-femoral 27 mm #Lotus Edge, #Sentinel & #Manta closure device. No BAV done. Discharged 🏠 next day. – at Wisconsin, USA

This is super amazing #TAVR valve, challenging case of severe AS with heavy calcified bicuspid valve, Lotus edge was the right choice, stable deployment, stable hemodynamics, no rapid pacing. Final result superb. No PVL, mean gradient 8 mmHg, no rhythm issues. Wow .. 🏡 in 24 hrs – at Wisconsin, USA
