We bought this Indomie from a Nigerian African store, but something about the expiry date looked suspicious. I checked properly and found the original expiry date had been changed. It expired in August, but we bought it in September. This one is Canada 🇨🇦, just imagine what they are doing to Nigerians in Nigeria.

We walked into an African store owned by a Nigerian couples recently, we wanted to buy a particular bread but the ones on display was obviously very bad with mould all over it, my husband pointed it to her and she said that the bread is still okay. That was our last time there.

The alterations of the expiry date on the carton is it not a crime? But does the individual packets have the same date as extended or not? That is one valid check to make also This shows that expired product circulation is a problem in every clime

Most cargos that left Nigeria in February/March ish just arrived last week due to the global delays with sea transport. This may be from that prolonged transit delay & the store decided to slam a new date on it. Please report this, lest this become normalized.

I dare say that most of the imported goods you buy from African store abroad are sourced from open market in Nigeria and not from manufacturers. So there’s tendency to import fake goods. We have been seeing videos of fake and adulterated food in Nigeria, so one can’t act surprised. This is the reason I don’t crave Naija food in diaspora.

My husband went to buy jollof rice spice from an African store and it was clearly expired , they started gaslighting him that it was the production date not the expiry date . I feel like they buy goods that are about to expire cos they’re cheaper and ship them here to us

I don’t know why they do this rubbish.. They don’t want to experience losses, but you can’t be selling expired products to me, I didn’t stock them for you.. I have never trusted any indomie with a printed expiration date, cos that’s not how it was produced..
