After having bought your return flight ticket in advance before even making the trip, it is absolutely relative if travelling to Nigeria on a budget of £1,800 will be enough or not. If you have your accommodation already sorted and won't do any hotel/apartment lodging at all, if you aren't hiring any driver to drive you while you will be staying in Nigeria, if you aren't going to be doing any travelling locally (that is, outside of your base), you will most definitely have some change left from that your £1800 budget. However, if you have to pay for all the aforementioned, let's do a small mathematics together. A decent and safe budget-friendly hotel starts from 50k per night. If you stay for 2-3wks, lodging will cost between 700k to 1.05m depending on the hotel standard and how long you are staying. If you are hiring a driver, depending on the city where you will be staying and the type of driver you will be using, no driver will take less than 200k for that same period. The driver will abandon every other thing and be at your service 24/7 till you go back. It's a fulltime job for him. Depending on how much movement and traveling around you would be doing, you should be budgeting at least 600k for fueling of car for that 2-3wks period. We all know what the pump price of fuel is saying right now. You will probably want to flex a little, especially with your old time friends, but I won't put a budget on that for you. Everyone can use their discretion to determine how much they want to spend on flexing. Also, don't forget "ìyá kaabo, ọmọ kuule". When you go to greet people, you will drop something for them, when people come to greet you, you will still drop something for them. Na you just come from abroad now.
