Let your city council member know how you feel about 4 units or more replacing your neighbor’s house. Two stories and 4 times as many people living right next door. Elimination of most of the existing tree canopy, 4 times as many ac units running at the same time, 4 times as many cars parking on the street, and so much more. It’s easy to find your council member’s email and you should show up to all the city hearings to voice your opinion.

Hardworking Virginians who build equity in their homes should not face capital gains taxes that punish them for selling their principal residence. Mark Warner has opposed common-sense relief such as indexing capital gains for inflation, protecting a status quo that locks up housing supply. I will fight to eliminate the capital gains tax on primary home sales or at least double the outdated exclusion so families can move freely and younger buyers finally get a fair shot. This will put money back in YOUR pockets, not the elites in Washington.
