I want Britain to be a country that rewards ambition, hard work and success.
We should be encouraging wealth creation, supporting businesses and recognising those who contribute to the economy.
I believe our priorities have shifted too far towards welfare dependency and not nearly enough towards those who drive the country forward.

Happy 77th birthday to The Alan Parsons Project bassist and vocalist David Paton!
From ‘Tales Of Mystery And Imagination’ through to ‘Stereotomy’, David’s bass playing helped shape the APP sound across nine albums. He also sang lead vocals on tracks including ‘What Goes Up…’, ‘Children Of The Moon’ and ‘Let’s Talk About Me’.
A founding member of Pilot, David was also the voice behind their hits ‘Magic’ and ‘January’.
Very sad news about Sir Patrick Stewart.
A wonderful actor and a true British legend.

If I were arranging a £10 billion gift to a criminal, I would definitely expect a kickback. Maybe a palace on the Black Sea and cash sent to my secret Swiss and Cayman Island bank accounts.
Zia Yusuf is a man after my own heart. He knows what it's like to build a business, work hard and pay taxes.
He can see that our country and economy are crumbling, while people are taxed far beyond what they should be.

The government's council tax checker crashing yesterday as people scrambled to see whether they might receive £100 was rather revealing.
I genuinely hadn't appreciated the sheer scale of poverty in this country.
Imagine being in circumstances where the mere prospect of £100 causes such excitement.
The extraordinary levels of bitterness, envy and resentment in this country are beginning to make rather more sense.
