If you’re wondering why @Lane_Kiffin pushed so hard to roster Dae’Quan Wright and Zxavian Harris, this is the first interview in which Kiffin explains himself. Kiffin says that Dae’Quan Wright stood up for him at Ole Miss so that Kiffin could finish Ole Miss’ playoff run with their coach. Kiffin says he never forgot that and wanted to stand-up for Wright. I heard @MattMoscona earlier this week cite this as Kiffin’s motivation. Kiffin confirms it in this interview. The sad thing is what I’ve been saying all week. The NCAA robbed these player of a final year of eligibility because of their ill-timed rule change. In addition, the SEC created a new rule last month just to keep these players out. LSU is going to be fine. These players aren’t crucial to LSU’s success this year. But these players are the biggest losers in all this, and I feel bad for them. The NCAA should have given a blanket waiver to the entire 2022 recruiting class to make right the tough situation the NCAA put these players in. It looks like this whole thing may be all but over now, but wow. What a sad result for these players.
