Switzerland just approved its first spot Bitcoin ETF for retail investors.
FINMA greenlit the country’s first publicly traded fund that invests directly in Bitcoin under Swiss investment fund rules.
This is different from the Bitcoin ETPs already trading on SIX (those are debt securities). The regulator granted a diversification exemption based on Bitcoin’s long history and high trading volume, while requiring stronger custody, operational controls, and clear risk disclosures for retail buyers.
Another country is opening the door for everyday people to get Bitcoin exposure through regulated products.
This isn’t just another headline.
It’s slow, steady expansion of access — the kind that compounds over time.
