The ball is rolling! I’m putting together an online series that will consist of different formats (bite sized deep dives; panel discussion; object/photo explanation, etc) on a particular theme. I’d love to hear from anyone who would be interested in getting involved 🙏 PLS RT

Here’s something for the military history squad to get involved in. If you have an area of expertise that you’d like to share get in touch with @TonWarTalks and share your knowledge.

Our Goals:
A wide approach considering all WW1 fronts
A communicative & diverse online presence
A quarterly journal of substance & quality
An annual, moving UK conference
A mentoring programme by which volunteers can foster a local interest in #WW1 in their communities
I’m sorry to say there will be no 2020 season of War Talks because we rely heavily on the good will of our speakers and venue and asking people to commit in this time of uncertainty is unnecessary. However, we will be back......keep your eyes peeled for Spring 2021.....1/2

Returning from church parade in #Tonbridge, men of the 202nd (2/1st #Kent) Brigade march past @TonbridgeUK These are likely either 2/4th or 2/5th Buffs, or 3/4th or 2/5th Royal West Kents. Date unknown but probably autumn/winter 1915. #WW1

I'm very much looking forward to seeing @1917 - and I'm sure it will help to re-kindle some interest in the Great War following the #WW1Centenary.
Little update from Stephen and those D-Day hards we heard about this year 👍
Popped along to Stokes Bay in Gosport today to see how @CITiZAN1 are getting on with their surveys of the D-Day embarkation hards and very glad I did. The weather has exposed a large section of in-situ beach hardening mats, with their metal fastenings still intact (albeit rusty).
Thanks to @Barney065 for bringing this year’s season to an end with a stonking evaluation of the success of the British Army in Normandy. Thank you all for your support and good humour this year everyone 💯♥️
