Defence tech company Tonbo Imaging made a strong market debut, listing at ₹1,162 on the BSE, up 66% from its IPO issue price of ₹700. On the NSE, shares listed at ₹1,160, up 65.71%, valuing the company at ₹6,656 Cr.
The ₹852 Cr IPO was subscribed 135.9X and comprised entirely an offer for sale (OFS), meaning Tonbo will receive no proceeds. Its cofounders collectively pocketed ₹137.2 Cr through share sales.
Despite the strong debut, FY26 operating revenue fell 22.7% YoY to ₹362.6 Cr, while net profit declined 30% to ₹50.8 Cr. In Q1 FY27, the company reported a net loss of ₹17.7 Cr.

The tech that helped India counter Pakistan’s drone swarms during Operation Sindoor is now getting deployed for civilian tech by alerts on elephants on Assam’s railway tracks and driver-assist systems in highways.
Bengaluru’s Tonbo Imaging builds thermal sights, missile seekers, targeting systems for the armed forces. Now the same capability is being piloted with Indian Railways to alert loco pilots to wildlife at night, and adapted for trucks, cars and mining equipment to spot pedestrians and cattle beyond the reach of headlights.

A Defence Industry Seminar has been organised in Astana, Kazakhstan on 15th October 2026, on the theme ‘Re-imagining Indo-Kazakh Defence Industrial Collaboration-Building Bridges for a safe and secure Future’.
Speaking on the occasion, His Excellency Shri Y. K. Sailas Thangal, Ambassador of India to Kazakhstan, said that Industries of both the countries may use opportunities provided by this seminar to establish meaningful business-to-business engagement, identify complementary capabilities and explore joint ventures, co-production and joint development projects that create mutual value.
The seminar was attended by 35 representatives from Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Defence and Kazakhstan Engineering. 17 Indian DPSUs, private Defence companies and FICCI also participated in the seminar along with Shri Amiya Kumar Das, DDG, the representative for Department of Defence Production.
An MOU was also signed between Big Bang Boom Solutions pvt Ltd India and BKM LLP Kazakhstan at the Defence Industry Seminar.

General NS Raja Subramani, Chief of Defence Staff, (#CDS) visited HQ #CentralCommand, #Lucknow and reviewed operational preparedness and logistics capabilities. During the visit, he held detailed discussions with Lt Gen Anindya Sengupta, GOC-in-C #CentralCommand and senior officers on operational readiness, capability development and the evolving security environment. The CDS also visited the under-construction new Central Command Hospital, where he was briefed on the progress of the project and its envisaged healthcare infrastructure.
During his visit to Lucknow, General NS Raja Subramani also called on Hon’ble Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Shri Yogi Adityanath. The interaction provided an opportunity to exchange views on matters of mutual interest, with emphasis on continued coordination and cooperation between the Armed Forces and the State Government. The engagement reinforced the importance of close Military-Civil synergy in furthering shared institutional and developmental objectives.
The visit underscored the continued focus on operational readiness, resilient logistics, modern infrastructure and capability development to meet emerging challenges.

SEBI has cleared two more startup IPOs as India's public markets pipeline continues to grow. 👇
Manufacturing startup @zetwerk and defence tech startup @TonboImaging have received SEBI's final approval to go public after the market regulator issued observation letters on July 9 and July 6, respectively. The approvals are valid for 12–18 months, during which the companies can launch their IPOs.
Zetwerk's proposed IPO is expected to include a $300 Mn fresh issue and a $150 Mn offer-for-sale, while Tonbo Imaging is planning an OFS-only IPO of up to 1.81 Cr shares.
The approvals add to a growing queue of startup listings, signalling sustained momentum in India's IPO market despite evolving market conditions.
