Caught in the headlights: A budget of neoliberal paralysis
This is a cowardly budget that does nothing to stand up to capitalist interests or neoliberal ideology. Burnham’s promise of ‘change’ was just PR, argues Dominic Alexander

You get the sense that the tide has turned against Nigel Farage, that the aura of bonhomie that could enchant so many at the Telegraph is draining away. What's revealed is a nasty piece of work whose excuses increasingly do not stand up.
Exclusive:
Nigel Farage's "physical altercation" during the State Opening of Parliament was with the Lib Dem MP Caroline Voaden - and has caused an major row between Reform and the Lib Dems.
Lib Dem sources say Voaden was left "shocked and shaken" after he "shoved" her to secure a place in the procession of MPs to the King's Speech.
Video from the Commons Chamber that day shows Farage and Voaden making their way down from their benches together.
Voaden reported the incident to the Serjeant at Arms and says Farage was asked to apologise - but hasn't.
A Reform spokesman denies any wrongdoing by Farage, saying "it was the Lib Dem MPs being aggressive towards Nigel". Lib Dems say that is "utter nonsense"
Farage said yesterday that the "physical altercation" was the reason he didn't put up a fight to be in the Chamber for the Budget after his prayer card to save a space was removed.
He said he thought that after the row with Voaden, it was "better to avoid conflict".
But in a further twist, a Commons spokesman says Farage's card was only removed because it didn't have a date stamp, which are required to reserve a spot.

Britain’s backing for the war in Ukraine and Trump’s illegal war on Iran are driving the rocketing cost of living at home.
Instead of giving billions more to war and Ukraine, Healey could have gone much further than offering ‘breathing space’ for people at home.

Today in Manchester many came down in solidarity with Palestinians, making it abundantly clear that not only is Zionism racist, it is genocidal
Gratitude to all those who came down, & all those who stopped to show their support
The state might hate it, but things are shifting – at Manchester, England

Great news from France…

Amazing scenes in Paris yesterday. 800,000 students, workers and Yellow Vests together against the government.
The government, media and the police trying to turn it into a law and order issue but this is a social revolt that is spreading across the continent.
The question of welfare not warfare is ever-present here on the placards and banners and next week French left MPs @LegavreJerome and @DanieleObono will be joining us on our UK tour to explain why and how the protests in France are unfolding and how they relate to the anti-war movement in Britain.
@ShabbirLakha reports from Paris.
