I put the * at the end of my name as a reminder to myself that the job isn't done
I cover hockey full-time, but I also have to work a full-time job away from the rink.
I'd love to grow @InsideAHLHockey to the point where 📝 becomes the only "job"
Some days that * weighs heavy.
I'm sure the #Pens media will get a longer chat with him in a bit, but here's my interview with Justin Brazeau from last night's #WBSPens win in Hershey while you wait for that.
@InsideAHLHockey youtube.com/watch?v=fCNga3u9…
The #WBSPens have called up LHD David Breazeale from ECHL-Florida.
If Pittsburgh needs a defenseman & it's not Chase Pietila, I wonder if Jake Livanavage gets rewarded with a look here.
He's been mighty impressive, though just a rookie with a handful of games of pro experience.
Worth noting that if Harrison Brunicke remains out due to injury, the #WBSPens only have six healthy defensemen.
They certainly need a seventh ahead of an upcoming weekend trip to Charlotte.
"I think it's just getting the game back, making sure I feel good, my body feels good & mentally getting ready so when I go back up I'm ready to go."
Justin Brazeau caught up with @InsideAHLHockey Sunday at the end of his conditioning loan with #WBSPens.

Glad I caught up with Justin Brazeau in Hershey last night...
The #Pens have recalled him from his conditioning loan to #WBSPens after two games. One assist in the 2GP.

Means the world to me.
It's been a struggle lately. The rink has helped me keep my mind off things. ✌️
The #WBSPens shutout their in-state rival @TheHersheyBears 5-0 behind goals from five different forwards, and a 43-save shutout from Taylor Gauthier.
Game story + thoughts from HC Kirk MacDonald & Melvin Fernstrom for @InsideAHLHockey subscribers.

FINAL: Taylor Gauthier celebrates a 43-save shutout as #WBSPens (5-4-1) down Hershey 5-0.
Five different goal scorers: Melvin Fernstrom, Bill Zonnon, Rutger McGroarty, Mikhail Ilyin & Rafael Harvey-Pinard
Phil Kemp career-high 3 assists. @InsideAHLHockey
Mock cheer by the Bears' faithful at Giant Center as the PA announces the final minute of the 3rd period with #WBSPens up 5-0. @InsideAHLHockey
The #WBSPens take a timeout after a stoppage here in the 3rd period, and HC Kirk MacDonald was not pleased.
Granted they're up 5-0, but this has been a strange game.
Hershey out-shooting WBS 36-13, and 13-1 in this 3rd period. @InsideAHLHockey
Phil Kemp picked up another assist on Rafael Harvey-Pinard's 3rd period goal, giving him a career-high three assist night to go along with the decisive 2nd period fight with Sam Bitten. @InsideAHLHockey
GOAL. Rafael Harvey-Pinard gets his 1st of the season 15 seconds into the 3rd period. 5-0 #WBSPens
@InsideAHLHockey
Officially Rutger McGroarty's goal, from Jake Livanavage and Justin Brazeau.
They changed it during the 2nd intermission for those scoring at home. @InsideAHLHockey
GOAL. 3-0 #WBSPens.
What poise with the puck by Jake Livanavage.
Believe Rutger McGroarty got a piece on the way in, but man has Livanavage been so impressive for WBS to start the year.
Justin Brazeau a secondary assist. @InsideAHLHockey
HC Kirk MacDonald to @_NickHart earlier today, on Harrison Brunicke's status:
"It doesn't look like it's anything serious."
Brunicke considered day-to-day, and there's some optimism he might be able to play next weekend.
@InsideAHLHockey
END 2ND: #WBSPens take a 4-0 lead into the 3rd on 12 shots on goal.
Goals from Melvin Fernstrom, Bill Zonnon, Jake Livanavage (for now, might get changed to Rutger McGroarty) and Mikhail Ilyin. @InsideAHLHockey
Mikhail Ilyin makes it 4-0 #WBSPens heading to the 3rd period.
FIGHT! 👊
Phil Kemp mows down Sam Bitten, then after the linesmen break it up the Hershey forward throws a very late uppercut. Gutless move.
Entire #WBSPens bench leapt in the air at that one.
@InsideAHLHockey
Back at it in the middle frame here in Hershey with #WBSPens leading the Bears 2-0
END 1ST: Strange opening period in Hershey.
The Bears dominated most of the period, out-shooting #WBSPens 15-5, but goals from Melvin Fernstrom & Bill Zonnon have the visitors ahead 2-0 heading to the middle frame.
