There will be a big push for AI regulations that lock out open-weight and open-source AI models.
The lie that will be told is that they're legislating for "safety". The reality will be massive amounts of money flowing from the cloud AI providers and AI-doomer nonprofits in a move actually designed to put a regulatory moat around the cloud providers' business models.
They want to put off the day when they're obsolescent as long as possible. Even if it means forfeiting the lead in the AI race to the Communist Chinese.

That the Michigan race has focused almost exclusively on El-Sayed is bizarre given that El-Sayed is not particularly left-wing, while Mike Rogers is the most extremist version of the War on Terror Surveillance State neocon warmonger that even MAGA said had to be politically extinguished.
When people tell you who they are, believe them. Abdul El-Sayed’s campaign has been based on vile racism and antisemitism, funded by groups who support terrorism, and designed to divide and blame.
As I said the day after the primary, if you believe Michigan can have a future where we can all come together, you have a home with us.
I say today: if you are a Haley Stevens voter who rejects this bigoted and hateful candidate, you have a home with us. If you believe we can all work together to make housing affordable, improve education and, lower gas prices, you have a home with us.

Greenville, NC: A mother with a baby at home was woken at 3:20 a.m. after a nearby shooting (bullets nearly hit two kids). Police wanted her Ring doorbell footage. She said the camera was dead.
Sgt. Jennifer Umphlet threatened to rip it off the wall, get a warrant, and keep her up all night. Officers then entered without a warrant, detained her for “not cooperating,” and (per her account) used her face to unlock and search her phone. Nothing found—she wasn’t a suspect.
The actual shooters were later charged without her video. Umphlet was placed on leave; public records later showed she was no longer employed.
This is what happens when “can we see your camera?” turns into forced entry and detention of ordinary people.

Didn't know that was what I needed lately, but it sure does scratch an itch.
Deftones, ICP and Nine Inch Nails are definitely my top 3 and I've seen each about 20ish times, but counting seems annoying.
I've seen Eminem like 12 times too which is pretty impressive given how little he tours.
